I was born and lived in Toronto Ontario until I was 16 (except for one year) So it was my home town. But it has changed so much over the years I have no feeling for it now.

At 16 I moved to Montreal Quebec and hated it from the moment I arrived until I left 31 years later. The repression of anyone who only doesn't speak french is appalling - and yes I did try to learn.

Then I went to Winnipeg Manitoba and liked that for about 3 months then hated the winter, hated the summer almost as much due to swarms of mosquitoes that kept you inside (I lived in the one area that didn't allow spraying for the little bug-gers)

Now I am in Ottawa Ontario. It has the feel of Toronto when I was a kid. I love the green spaces, the rivers and wild life, the bike trails, the history, the architecture, the people, the freedom, the lack of mosquitoes. In fact there isn't anything here I don't like. Now I don't ever want to move again

I grew up in New England. I've lived in California and Florida and have travelled all over the country. I moved back to New England because at heart I am an New Englander...love the history and culture here... I've had enough of the snow for this year... maybe in the future I'll go south for the harshest months out of the year... time will tell.

My best friend has a place in Casteljaloux and I visit him often.

Clam, if you happen to drive through Auvergne from St Flour to Espalion, do stop at Laguiole and ask for the restaurant where they serve a superb aligot, and enjoy it. You can have it with local Marcillac red wine, Bonnes vacances !

Aligot thank you for the restaurant recommendation. I'll definitely give it a try. I have tried Marcillac in the past and it's very nice. Since you have an excellent knowledge of history I'll tell you that my friend I referred to is a direct descendent of Robert Surcouf which obviously means more to a Frenchman than to Englishmen like myself. I was reading about him not so long ago, recalling a verbal exchange between him and a Royal Navy officer which went - "You French fight for money, while we British fight for honour." Surcouf replied:"A man fights for what he lacks the most!"

I was born in South Carolina and I still have many relatives there. I lived in North Carolina from age 3- 22. And I have been in Georgia since then. I have no plans to leave Georgia but who knows what we may do when my husband retires. He says he is going to retire in 8 years but I'm not sure about that with the economy the way it is.

We will probably be influenced by where our children are at that time. It's hard to say where they will be in 8 years.

We currently live in suburban Atlanta and we are doing a lot of updating and upgrading to our house. I find the more you do to your house the more you want to stay in it.

We own property in the north Georgia mountains. We may build a small retirement home there.

I have a sister in North Carolina and my husband has a brother and his family in North Carolina. My husband's sister is talking about moving there after her youngest child graduates from high school. It's possible we could end up there. Maybe somewhere between Winston-Salem and Charlotte.

I love Maine and Montana at least in the summer. It wouldn't be bad to have a home in Florida in the winter.

I think I could live in Australia and maybe England. I have visited both places and I found Australia to be very similar to the USA.

I've always dreamed of living in NYC. I have visited there several times. I think it would be great to have a home in Manhattan. But only if I were very rich and also had a home somewhere else like Maine or Florida.
