Just because someone talks with an impediment and appears to be slow does not mean they are stupid.
A person can even be "simple-minded" but that does not mean they are stupid, either.
Stupid is when you do something thoughtless and you should have known better.
Stupid is when you do not use your reasoning powers to think ahead and play out the consequences of what your actions could bring.
Forrest Gump was not stupid.

That's all I got to say about that.

No, stupid is only possible if people have full mental capacity they COULD be using...imo. But i would rather be like Forest, capable of happiness and other emotions, lucky, and rich to boot!........i just hate the sorrow he felt when Jenny dies.....i aways cry...........oompa

Yeah I love that film-stirs the soul :)
oompa, back to the other thread, was Forest wise and smart? I'd say yes. Was he educated or intelligent? Much the opposite.
Just like Jesus said
Mark 10:15 ESV
15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it."
All the best,
Stephen

Can't agree with youse guyses. The whole point of the movie was that Gump was a blatthering idiot, and yes, stupid, but also that being smart can be overly valued and is not an indicator of success.

Nope, JD. Stupid is when you do something really foolish but you knew better. His only foolishness was holding on to Jenny when she didn't reciprocate. He wasn't stupid.
