    Hi villabolo,

In Matthew 21:20 the fig tree is destroyed instantly

    Where does it say that?

    No version here reads "instantly".

Matthew 21:20 Seeing this, the disciples were amazed and asked ...

    Maybe you have the NFFT?

But seriously, read them both again-Mark first which was likely written first then Matthew.

There are several similar "discrepancies" in the gospels which when you examine the text are actually to do with the different writing styles, points of view or way of recording the events.

    All the best,

    Stephen

    Hi cameo-d

Skuze me, but what religion is that?

2 Corinthians 12 (New International Version)

    2 Corinthians 12
    Paul's Vision and His Thorn
1 I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. 3 And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— 4 was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell. 5 I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. 6 Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say.

7 To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations

    Every commentary here agrees.

This obviously is not taught in the KH. My JW friend had never heard of "third heaven" even though I found the term in the NWT for him. I assume it clashes with the WT doctrine so they either gloss over it or explain it away with some heretical teaching like they normally do.

    All the best,

    Stephen

Hi Chalam, I was using the NWT because it was handy however I am now quoting "When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. How did the fig tree wither so quickly?" they asked." New International Version

Have you ever read Mary K Baxter's Revelations of Hell? Jesus took her to Hell.

    Hi villabolo,

Firstly IMHO the only thing the NWT is good for is kindling and such-I am sure many here agree.

OK, Matthew says "when the disciples saw this". To say it was "instantly" is grammatically and contextually wrong.

There is nothing to say in Matthew that they didn't see it a week, or a month or a year later.

However, we know from Mark's account it was the next day.

There are other tougher things to reconcile than the fig tree but ultimately one wants to beat the bible down or believe it?

Plenty want to beat it down but personally I shelve any difficulties I find until God want to deal with them. I have had several sticking points in the past but I press on in faith until I get revelation.

Anyhow, hopefully we can agree on beating down the NWT which actually isn't really a bible anyhow?

    All the best,

    Stephen

    Jesus took her to Hell.

Why bother Jesus when it's not out of the way for WT to take you there?

    Thank you, Chalam!

Now that you refreshed my memory...I do remember reading that in the past and being intrigued.

    According to Wiki:

A third concept of Heaven, also called shamayi h'shamayim ( ?‎???‎?‎ ??? : the "Heaven of Heavens") is mentioned in such passages as Genesis 28:12, Deuteronomy 10:14 and 1 Kings 8:27 as a distinctly spiritual realm containing (or being traveled by) angels and God Himself. [ 4 ]

I suppose third heaven must be Somewhere Over the Rainbow......

    Hi beksbks,

Have you ever read Mary K Baxter's Revelations of Hell? Jesus took her to Hell.

I assume that is for me to answer? Forgive me if it is not.

No I haven't read it but I l have listened to her account on the Sid Roth show.

A Divine Revelation of Hell & Heaven by Mary K ...

I have other similar accounts so I give her some credence. I was unsure about the body shape and roller coaster thing. This is either divine revelation or she is a false prophet? I do not know her track record which is obviously important Deuteronomy 18:22 but I put this into practice with regards her account.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 (New International Version)

19 Do not put out the Spirit's fire; 20 do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21 Test everything. Hold on to the good.

In testing what she said I was unsure if her vision was too far from scripture?

I would start with Bill Wiese and his 23 Minutes In Hell account which I am totally happy with and I find wholly biblical.

    Hi cameo-d,

Read the commentaries and check the cross refs on this link I posted for you, (you need to copy and paste to browser)

Wikipedia is very good much of the time but substandard at others (see the WT Wikipedia propaganda on JWs for example).

Unfortunately that isn't even funny. Better to gouge your eyes out and cut your limbs off as Jesus said than go there for even a minute.

Here is a short video for the Bill Wiese account

Also, I just remembered Ian McCormack. His testimony comes highly recommended from myself.
