This always sounded weird when it was announced. Even when I was plugged into the Matrix. I think most are just so trusting: "they would never scheister us, they were appointed by Jah"

The nice thing about donations . . . is they're voluntary. No Witness I know paid one cent they didn't want to pay.

exactly Gary....that's the one way many of us have to "revolt": no money from us!!!

I remeber sitting at a meeting about 3 months ago after we had a two day special assembly, and the brother was saying that even though they had the money to pay for the deficit that the brothers and sisters in the congo (spanish congo) should still give donations because if they keep using the money they have then the bank accounts would be empty faster. makes you wonder?

All about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.Yes they can and have rented commerical places for less $$$$$$$$$.
What I don't agree with, how they knock other religions ( pass the money plates) and they don't.
Than they have the gull to say"brothers and sisters it take money for lights,heat,A.C. etc, etc," Do not
other religions have costs? Just because they raise money in a differnet way,why do the WBTS knock
their methods. At least these other religions are honest about their methods. Not like the liars of the WBTS.

I did realize growing up in the truth that there was always a deficit, but I thought they had to announce that to get the friends to contribute.
Recently, though, when I started to realize stuff, I was talking to my family about the Special Assembly Day. I mentioned the cost, $8000, for one day at Norco. They said electricity and supplies are expensive for 1200 people. No reasoning there, they really think its that expensive.

I wish they would just charge each person as they walked in the door. "It will be $100.00 per person today to pay for the use of the assembly hall. A family of five would need $500.00 to be allowed in.
That would really bring it home how outright money grubbers they really are.
Maybe some would have to just skip it because they couldn't afford it.
I've heard so many times that the WBTS doesn't charge us, yet allows us to sit in stadium seats that would cost a few hundred dollars if used at a sporting event. How special?
Please, just charge everyone upfront so they will have time to meditate on it throughout the day. They may choose to stay home the next day.

$600 for the actual expenses of running it for the day, and $6,000 for the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund.

Here's a sample expense and revenue sheet from 2007, Calgary Kingdom Hall Centre for Jehovah's Witnesses . I've highlighted a few figures. If we divide the receipts from other charities by 52 weeks a year, they receive from other Kingdom Halls about 3,700 per weekend to run the facility. They are paying perhaps one part-time person to manage the facility (21,000 per year). Facility costs are about 1,800 per week.
Could it be that other "expenses" of the weekend include "donations" to the mother organization and air fare and transportation for the out-of-town speakers?
