I just finished reading the 100 Most Frequently Asked Questions about the End Times
See what you think :)
All the best,
Stephen
The destruction of the temple at Jerusalem signaled the end of the Jewish age. The collection of the church and the establishment of Christ's Kingdom will signal the end of the Gospel age. Jesus statment to his apostles more probably referred to the end of the Gospel age and not the Jewish age, because they were to Kings in his Kingdom along with all the Saints throughout he Gospel age.
Remember the Apostle John's concluding statement long after Jersaelem's devastation:
"Even so, come, Lord Jesus." - Rev 22:20
Or is this an addition to the basic sayings of Jesus by members of one of the end times Christ cults?
Chalam,
I read part of the 100 Questions earlier and had to get some stuff done, now the site is giving me an error message.
Honestly, Why does all this Bible stuff have to be so tedious and complicated to get to the bottom of?
Life without all this stuff is so simple.
Well, see now, look at all this confusion....no wonder the Society lovingly warns us against doing independent bible study especially into original bible languages.
Well it was supposed to be when the good news is preached in the entire inhabited earth, and then the end would come.
Since it hasn't happened yet, there's a few possibilities here. (and no, some of these are not serious)
1. What Witnesses have preached world wide isn't "the good news" Jesus was describing. (OH NOES!)
2. There may be one nook or cranny in the world that they missed in their preaching work, and God is holding up what would be the most important event in human history because Jehovah's Witnesses forgot to leave a tract in Bumf*ck wherever.
3. The "end" isn't what Jehovah's Witnesses think it is and it's some sort of metaphor for something else.
4. Nobody really knows! This question is too hard and I'd rather go shopping.
5. Your interpretation, whatever it is, has got to be at least as good as the WTS.
6. Um...soon? Which is apparently a very long time in Witness years.
Hi Purps,
Don't worry, that is probably the most tricky subject in the whole bible!
There are a lot of terms to understand and prophetic stuff to unravel.
Maybe it is best to start with something simpler first?
Have a look here?
Mark is great, and has a great way of explaining in simple terms some deep topics.
There are plenty of things to choose from.
All the best,
Stephen

Hi Satanus,
If you were schooled by the WT I totally disagree. You can forget pretty much everything they have told you. This speaks of them
18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
And this 9 He said, "Go and tell this people:
" 'Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.'
10 Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed."
If you want to really understand the bible you are going to have to start again and have you mind renewed regarding everything the WT put in there.
All the best,
Stephen
