If you want to really understand the bible you are going to have to start again and have you mind renewed regarding everything the WT put in there.
I agree and I only recently have tried that and it's very difficult to forget all that I was taught as a JW.

You need to ask the Father to send the Counselor.
26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
You will know when He has arrived. You will feel a real sense of peace.
