Although what you all say about the GB may be true,i.e basically deluded, therefore not thoroughly dishonest, the same cannot be said for those in the Writing Dept. you can tell from the deliberate mind control techniques, half truths, downright lies, mis-quotes,selective quotes etc.etc that they do not believe.

If they believed they would not think of resorting to such underhand methods. The same is true for those boyos entrusted with replying to letters sent in,same methods, utterly dishonest, they do NOT believe.

QUIRKY- A person would have to drink 90 proof just to believe all this JW rhetoric.

WOBBLE- I truly feel that the governing body IS aware of the mind control techniques put out by the writing committee as well. So I don't think the GB believes their own BS or the writing committee. They just proliferate it for power and control over members

They just proliferate it for power and control over members

That can also be said of some elders I used to know, to some men that never had any kind of power over

other people this was a gift from heaven and they flourished in it and may have over handedly abused this power.

Russell was the great salesman of other peoples ideals, when Rutherford came along he exploited them and created

his own self imposing power, just as the others that followed him. A kingdom was established as it still exists today.

There are many a religious kingdoms established around the globe that are claiming that they have the legal copyrights to god.

HOMEROVAH- I think many religions and mind control cults have leaders in them that abuse people for power and control. We just happened to be in the one of many of those that is called " Jehovah's Witnesses. " Personally I feel religion is the bane of all mankind. It has caused numerous pain and suffering.

OUTLAW- Very true. Every one of the GB's needs are met and they are spoiled treated with kid gloves. So I guess they would even " fake " believing in it to receive benefits

Thats exactly right Flipper and its their personal responsibility to rework the doctrines to keep them

looking legitimate to the rest of the flock.

Its hierarchal position that many a JW man has had a dream of obtaining.

The only problem they have now is they've reworked their end time doctrines relentlessly and people are

starting to grow tired and unbelieving as well.

I didn't see this topic since I posted a very similar one the other day. It's possible that Russell was sincere either in his younger years or was so until he died even though he was teaching a lie. Obviously he wasn't as honest as the society makes him out to be. Anyways, Rutherford certainly made things work to his advantage and maybe until 1925 he actually believed all that Russell taught. Now after Rutherford many of the leaders grew up within the religion and obviously with the lie. I doubt that most were educated since that's one of the no no's of the WTS so at present they either are still believing it or not but are in because where else would they get such kingly treatment? But really, did anyone have any contact with them to know what they believed? It's hard to imagine that they actually believe 607 and 1914 at present time. Since this thread is not only about GB which I'm really curious about, the other more educated people would be the lawyers. Do these people get paid? Do lawyers get some sort of allowance or are they just as ignorant of the facts and follow GB teachings blindly?? The Canadian WTS lawyer (Howe?) who died had an office out of Bethal, was that official office or he just needed an office from which he practiced law? Did he have any other clients other than WTS? I guess the lawyer questions would apply to all WTS lawyers not only Howe. Anyways did he charge any witnesses to represent them? Or did he actually do it for free out of true sincerety? I just don't understand why these guys would do it for free if they have education and seen all the deception over the years? What's the deal?

HOMEROVAH- Was out of town for 4 days and noticed these responses. Good point Homer that the GB fakes it just to get benefits. They have to constantly rework the doctrines to keep the members controlled. And as you said their " end time " doctrines are TOTALLY becoming unbelievable . Almost 100 years since 1914 - interesting.

DIAMONDIZ- You are right the WT lawyers and the GB wouldn't get this kingly treatment anywhere else. Nobody has had contact with these men as to what to believe except themselves in the WT organization- higher ups and D.O's and C.O. 's. So they keep perpetuating the illusion among themselves ! Circular cycle. What spins around- spins around information wise. Re-hash constantly. Yes- I do believe the WT lawyers get paid - not sure by whom but the WT corporation is divided into at least 4 parts now, maybe more since I heard last. So I'm quite sure they can shuffle money around anyway they see fit. Some of the attorneys might be cult mind controlled- but I rather think they know the scam and just go along with the GB for power sake and money
