Why did you pick your avator or username? (page 7)

They just couldn't kill me ALL dead! I couldn't ever shut my brain completely off, which means that, eventually, you will fail at being a JW.

I chose Hopscotch because it is the name of one of my favourite movies with Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson. It is about a CIA agent who gets tired of the lies and dirty tricks going on and bucks the system. When they try to demote him he turns the tables on them and exposes them. It is a very clever and very funny movie. So I thought it was kind of an appropriate name then to use for someone who leaves JWs and then helps expose them.

When I signed up for ex JW boards, I wanted my first name, Jeff, but that was boring by itself. I was watching sports on TV and they were discussing the best quarterbacks of all time. "Hey, that sounds good!" AllTimeJeff was born.

As for the avatar, after I posted my story, someone (I still have never been able to figure out who) said that he knew me, heard me a couple of times in his congregation. He PM'd me and said that while I was in, he thought I was like Stephen Colbert, without the irony.

Since I love The Colbert Report anyway, it seemed like a good idea.

I mixed Drew Carey with Carl Sagan and there you have it. Just wanted to come up with a fake name (was an active JW at the time) and Drew Sagan was where I ended up.

Another random thought. Is it just me or do you associate people with the avatars more than you probably should? I know that after I was here a while I kind of would be a little confused when people changed their avatar. It was like meeting a new person.
