I think that your time would be better invested living your life rather than coming with silly plans that will never work. Dear jesus so much work in order to considered in good standing in an organization that you want nothing to do with? Have you nothing better to do?

Thank God that I am not Vinny or Besty arguing back and forth! Vinny, you are TOO opinionated.

Isaiah 54:16 "Look! I myself have created the craftsman, the one blowing upon the fire of charcoal and bringing forth a weapon as his workmanship. I myself, too, have created the ruinous man for wrecking work. (v.17) Any weapon whatever that will be formed against you will have no success, and any tongue at all that will raise up against you in the judgment you will condemn [or, you will pronounce wicked (guilty)]. This is the hereditary possession of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness is from me," is the utterance of Jehovah.

    question:

An elder told me that a fake reinstatement is impossible because 6 signatures are required- the original JC, and the new congregation JC. Is this accurate?

Vinny, all due respect, you must have been a hell of a witness: dogmatic, opinionated and condescending. And you ain't got over it, no matter what you think.

Regarding what Snakes wrote and you quoted, NO, a secretary's 'natural' reaction won't be calling Patterson. Your average secretary will not call Patterson to confirm an address or a phone as a regular procedure. They may call to get such information if they don't have it; but if they have a name, an address and a phone number, they will not double check with the offices (why would they?). Some may do it, but they are not mandated to do so, and most I know will just try to get in contact with original committee over the phone (WT warns against Mobiles and wireless, but using landlines is perfectly OK, and contrary to what was stated it does not violate WT protocol).

That being said, I agree the 'fake congregation' plot has many holes and there's a good chance it would get caught.

As for the motivation, I agree that it seems a bit pathetic so much effort to be in good standing within an organization you hate. But, on the other hand, I can relate to the pain that being shunned causes; there's no limits to what one would do for parents and children and loved ones.

So no judging here. I would not be surprised to it works, I would not be surprised to see it fail. I've seen weirder things happen.

    Isaac,

As far as I know, only the original comitee has to sign on the reinstatement. I have not been involved in a reinstatement for about 4 years, but until then the original comitee was to inform WT about the resintatement via s-77. Maybe now they require letters from both comittes but I don't recall such instruction.

    thanks winston...anyone else any input?
Is the s-77 the only docs sent to the WT or are letters also sent? If only the s-77, is it only the original JC signing it?

Well, thanks everyone for discussing the HYPOTHETICAL possibilities. Most of you remembered to do it that way.
I will weigh in on the generality of this thread without calling out the specific points made, since it is just hypothetic.

It would be easy to spoil all the work going into creating a fake congregation. TRUE.
But as a chairman of a JC working with other congregations, I always just trusted that I was speaking with actual elders from actual congregations and I didn't try to call Bethel to see if these guys were legit. I trusted the brothers, trust in the brothers is important.

It would be easy to ruin this disappearing act afterward. TRUE.
But a smart ex-JW who got his records out of his old congregation by all this deception would have some kind of plan to "move again" or fade.

Hmmmm how many times People on this forum said words to the effect...

"we are just an ex-witness forum trying to help and support people coming out of Jw's. The Jw's are paranoid when they say apostates are always trying to get people out of the Jws and use trickery and lies to create situations agaiinst the Jws!"

In view of what this thread is trying to achieve I think the Jws have been entirely accurate in their assessment of apostates, the proof is here for everyone to read.
