BTEX, was thinking the same thing, my wife will be going to that tomorrow. I see that the book they are studying mentions fractions, but does not do a real good job of the details, in fact unlike some of the other publications, I don't see where it specifically says that they are from donated blood.

Jesus said: "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves." (John 13:35)
Farkel - I brought that scripture up and said, "if you google JWs, shouldn't there be a ton of websites stating how loving they are?" He said, "Yeah, it's the whole d'fing thing that ruining that. They really should let people talk to family members". His father is d'fed and so it really is personal with him. However, his dad is physophrenic so he's allowed to talk to his dad. He doesn't think his dad should be d'fed because he can never show his repentance because of his mental condition. He also doesn't think he should have been baptised or d'fed because of it... He said he's going to talk to the CO next time he comes around. He's not very happy about it... There's a lot to it, maybe I'll start a new thread...
Like Mary brought up, what are his thoughts on the "Bible" Study right now on blood?
He's never agreed with the whole fractions thing. He said that's raised a lot of red flags with him and for the life of him he said he just doesn't get it and it doesn't make any sense.

cognac,
:Still, it's hard on them as they've been taught their whole life that Jehovah will murder you for taking a transfusion.
Well, that sums up the "blood issue" shorter and better than anything I've ever seen!
1) Life is sacred and should be preserved.
2) In order to respect my sacred life and preserve it, I need to have a blood transfusion.
3) Do that and I'll KILL you! Forever!
4) Apparently life isn't that sacred to you then, is it?
5) Shut up, or I will KILL you!
6) What about my sacred life!
7) I said SHUT UP!

Awesome! Things are definitely looking very good for your husband. Glad your subtle anti-witnessing paid off, plus that dang ol' Internet!

Keep your fingers crossed, but don't count on it. Have you heard about the guy who wandered into NY Bethel after serving in the War. He started working there and eventually became a JW. He gave his entire adult life to service of the Watchtower Corporation. When he was old, he started speaking out loud at the breakfast table and cursing, and it got worse. He was counseled about it, but didn't stop. So they threw him out of Bethel, and he was left to beg on the street. The WTS told Bethel members NOT to help him out. He was found covered with a newspaper and frozen to death on the street that winter.
He almost certainly had Turret's Syndrome; it was something he couldn't help. So, in essence, the WTS murdered this man because he had a medical condition they didn't like. If the WTS headquarters treats a lifelong Bethel brother like this, don't be surprised if the CO doesn't do anything, either.
I hope I'm wrong and sorry if I rained on your parade, but there is NOTHING loving about this religion.

lol at farkel...
Drw- I guess it's been a combination of things. Doubts he already had, me, the internet, elders not promoting him to MS even though they keep hinting at it, his dad not being reinstated cause of his mental issues, etc. Plus, he came on this forum and spoke with Mr. Flipper on the phone before.
I must say that's it's been a very long road threading very carefully...

That's what I'm counting on. It will piss hubby off and he will leave the cult and take his Dad with him.

LOL @ Farkel! Yep, I said to her "How is it showing respect for the sanctity of life if we're supposed to let our family members DIE when there's something that could save them?" She agreed that it's not and actually surprised me when she said "By not allowing us to take a transfusion, in fact they're are forcing us to commit suicide." I said "Yep. It's called Assisted suicide and the only difference between the Governing Body and Dr. Kevorkian is that Kevorkian only helped those who literally had no hope of surviving and it was their choice. The Organization is forcing people who do have a good chance of surviving to unnecessarily take their own lives, because the WTS can't admit that they've been wrong on this for the last 57 years."

I remember hearing about that....totally sick. There was another similiar experience in a congregation in Arizona a couple of years ago. This sister was acting really bizarre, would show up at the meetings, spit on the brothers and start swearing. The elders claimed that she was obviously demunized (she's a witch!---Burn 'er!) and banned her from the KH.
I said to the person who told me this "for crissakes, she obviously has Turret syndrome. Instead of banning her, why the hell doesn't someone take her to the doctors office and get some medication for it?"
Idiots.
