I think the Internet is really hitting all paper magazines, newspapers, and book publishers businesses hard, religious or secular.

The WT's subject mater is slowly being reduced because of all the scientific discoveries make bible stories more and more unbelievable, which is no doubt taking its toll on the writers at bethel who have to keep the GB happy with what they write(cognitive dissidence). I can't imagine how hard it is to keep all those loony leaders of the WT happy and still look forward to going to work each morning as a writer for their mag.

This goes back to "How can you tell that the Governing Body is lying?" (point to latest issue of WT....)

All sorts of theories run through my head about what this means for their future, but one thing is for certain: The past of the GB won't be an issue for their future.

They are an "end time cult without an end time". (so well put by another poster) So eventually, they will have to do away with the end time and just make do as a werido religion thats just around for shits and giggles.

And I promise you, money, or the lack therof, will be a primary, decision making factor.

Thanks for your observation. it made me think of something my mother just told me yesterday. Thru a friend of a friend that is still in, she just recently went back east to Bethal for a tour and said it was like a ghost town. Hardly anyone there!!!

Thought that was really weird..and something was mentioned about taking everything to Canada. Which was even weirder..the speculation is the tax situation. They have not been paying taxes on all their labored people because they have worked for free. Then when it comes time for retirement there is no Social Security for them to collect.

Couldn't help but wonder if they were going to take off to Canada because of perhaps all the pediphile cases against them in the US. I don't know how strict the laws are there, but maybe it would be harder to prosecute them if they are in a different country. Not sure, and only speculating...but one thing IS for sure....things are definatly changing, and it is STRANGE!!!

I agree that they are going to combine the public WT & Awake. It's obviously part of a plan to reduce the amount of literature produced since the profitablility must not be there. They couldn't do it all at once because they must have felt it would be too hard for JWs to deal with. Seems silly, its just a magazine!

My prediction is that no later than 1-1-11 there will be only 1 mag offered to the public. My guess is that they will make further "adjustments" and end up only offering tracts at the initial calls in the not too distant future.

Berean, I've also thought that they may push tithing but that could have a backlash effect. They've railed against it so long that it may be a hard sell. It would certainly put those who go but don't make donations in a tough position. I would have a difficult time giving a dime to the WTS.

I personally doubt that would be the reason since Canada doesn't carry within itself the stronger US freedom of religion status, as a form of protection to cover

themselves with. Perhaps they are on the mends to totally change the organization , name and all to take attention off themselves and recreate a new organization

complete with new spiritual light.

Pedophile cases against religious organizations in Canada is just as strong as it is in the United States.

Its plausible that they could sell all of their assets in the States, which in total could be worth up to a billion dollars and

reestablish in a out of the way rural environment in another country like Canada and have millions left over after this has been accomplished.

Money is freedom and the WTS. has loads of it.

Men with power and money in their hands like that will work hard to make sure it stays with them......trust me.
