Ex-NJ-JW is correct. Not all blacks have crackhouses, just a small minoridy, and there is a sizeable amount of black folks who are middle class. I think Mini was just trying to be funny, maybe sarcastic would a better word. That being said my mother had a crackhouse. Well I should say she indirectly had a crackhouse.
A few years ago, after my mother's mother died in 1993, my mother used to rent out her mother's house. Renting the house got to be too much and Mother began to try to sell it. So during the selling process the house was standing empty and my father suggested that letting his junkie brother (the man was in his late 50's and still getting high, lost his family, kids wouldn't talk to him, everything) live there. Mother felt sorry for Uncle Gary and let him stay there.
About once a month Mother would go down to the house (it was a 3 hour drive) and have repairs made to get the house ready to sell. One time in particular Mother calls me while she at the house and says "Josie, something funny is going on. There's a guy (not my uncle) who keeps coming out of the house whenever someone drives up. The guy doesn't say anything to me and neither do the people who keep driving up. They just look at me. What are they doing?" I listened to all my mother said and calmly told her that dear Uncle Gary had turned her mother's house into a crackhouse. Looking back it was funny, terrible, and dangerous all rolled in one. Anything could have happened to my parents.

Basically I'm a here and now type guy. Each of us has to take responsibility for our own actions in the here and now . Good things happened to some of our ancestors, horrible things happened to some of our ancestors . I'm part Native American- I can't change the fact that the Europeans chased the Indians off their land - but I can make a diiference in my life in a positive way each day- and hopefully help others as well to escape cult mind control.
Our ancestors are dead. We take the positive things they did , learn from it and implement it in our lives. The negative things we learn from as well- just try to avoid those things in our life today. We are alive to do so- our ancestors are not. It is today- the here and now that matters
