Been taking the kids to a free family fim festival...going again this morning to see "Inkheart". The best part has been sitting with Joshua and hearing his reactions to what on the screen...it's a hoot.

My oldest daughter just got the word this morning that they will soon be moving into their new house which is located in a much nicer and safer area. She just called me to tell me about it!
It's a 4 Br, 2.5 bath brick home with bars on all windows and doors. It also has a basement and a deck.
I'm so happy for them; she has 6 kids; her husband is away, working in Arkansas; some low life has broken into their house twice. She sleeps with a gun underneath her pillow. That is not good.
She signs the papers on Monday.
I'm giving thanks as I type.

Well...I saw the number 210 on the scale :) Which if I was OPRAH would be an OHHHH MY GAAAAAAAWWWWWWD!!! moment... LOL
However Ive been working on eating healthier and taking better care of myself and NOT dieting...since October 1 08 when I was at 250 (yikes!!) and so I have lost 40 pounds!!
I havent seen that number since 1998! Yeah the pace is slow but I feel SO much better physically and that helps me mentally. Im going to be 55 on August 28th and would like to continue to be in good health and NOT carrying that extra 3-year-old around helps my joints, and my energy level :)
Also...since I separated from my husband April1 and moved to this new townhouse, I have been worried whether I made the right choice in doing so...my daughter said to me the other day, "Im getting excited about Christmas this year momma! I cant wait to decorate this WHOLE HOUSE! I love it here! I hope we stay a long long time!" And she gave me a big hug. :) Up til now because my husband is a JW still, decorating our ONE ROOM of the house to do our holidays and the CRAP he used to constantly give us for doing so...is done and gone. And I realized that I can put christmas music on any time I want to and dont have to listen for his truck coming and run to turn it off!!

My daughter arrived yesterday!! And she brought one of my dogs - the chihuahua, who has suddenly goten FAT!!
We're going to Edmonton for the weekend and an arts and music festival next weekend.
Yay!!
I'm happy!
(I still have no avatar, so I'm signing off with the palm trees from now on. Hope that's OK!!)

Thanks to all for your happy stories this month...they were a pleasure to read!
Just had to update you on the house my son was looking at......about 4 blocks from our own.
On Thursday night, ( the very evening I posted this thread) the next door neighbor's home was broken into at 1:10 am. Their dogs were pepper sprayed. They were tied up, pistol whipped, and had much art work and jewelry stolen. The theives by passed the security system by just cutting a large glass window in the back of the house. They set off the alarm when they went through the front door. Theives are still on the loose.\
The homes on that block are valued over $500,000 each, and the home my son was looking at was a short sale for $150,000. right next door.
After research we realized "short sales" are a joke and that price was way off the mark and the bank would never approve the price.
On the positive....he recognized, he has to save harder, and be prepared to jump when a good deal does come along.

Every day for the last week I have gotten a love letter from my boyfriend in the mail. A few days ago he sent one listing all the reasons that he loved me along with a beautiful Welsh love spoon. I think I managed to find myself a keeper!
