Subsidy. Well on that point, what if because out of necessity, I have to take what I can get. Maybe a temporary job because of mergers, downsizing, economy, etc. Many employers are dropping insurance for their employees. Even some of the "better" companies. It may not be my choice.

I listed some of my emotional points

Emotion should never be the primary motive for policy decision making.

I understand that JD. But for many, it's a starting point. That is how issues come up, no? Hyperbole makes it difficult, I know.

I have a feeling that most here are growing weary of this subject. Understandable. I have to go away for a few days, so contribute if you like. If not, that's cool.

What do you think drives "life saving" healthcare development?

Umm, how about the desire to save lives? At least it does in every other developed nation in the world.

So, you'll be subsidized doing something that won't pay for your expenses?

That's a leap. Perhaps he merely meant that people could finally take jobs that were more in line with their passions and desires, healthcare would cease to be the deciding factor in career choice. This might lead to greater innovation and productivity in the American private sector, leading to greater economic development; but maybe that's the idealest in me.

Money is your only fear when having a health checkup?

And they say I'm sarcastic. Money should be on your mind when you consider seeking health care. Health care is SO expensive that even WITH health insurance you still risk bankruptcy if you need ANY kind of serious medical care.

As a side point, most major drug companies have free or reduced cost charity medicine for poor people with no insurance. A quick internet search will turn such programs up. Lilly is a major company of which I have personal knowledge of such a program.

And yet we still have millions of Americans forced to choose between buying meds every month and buying food. JD are you really that naive? Corporate charity? Are you kidding me?

JD, at some point in your life, you or someone you love is going to get caught up in the great American health care meat grinder. You'll think everything is fine because you have health insurance, you're not like all those dead beats out there.....then the insurance will pay out, after they deny half your claims, and you'll still be left with a bill in the tens of thousands......come talk to us then. Come talk to us AFTER they repo your house, your car, all your toys, liquidate your hard earned retirement and savings accounts, and send dead beat process servers to bang on your front door at ten o'clock at night.

Come talk to us AFTER you've filed your first bankruptcy and lost EVERYTHING all because you needed treatment for cancer, or a heart transplant. Let us know how charitable your precious health care corporations were after all of that.

You're making a lot of invalid assumptions here bub.
