The wt havent lied, they have told what they believed, then as they were guided and given more information they informed us.Surely people werent worshipping Jehovah for selfish motives? If I get everlasting life or not i will always, always love and remain loyal to Jehovah.I dont serve him for any other reason but out of love for him,how could anyone not love him.

Those who have died made a dedication to Jehovah, they died knowing they would have the resurrection.I know many times things have been taken way out of porportion but if we listen to Jehovah and believe that he sees all things then we have the trust that he will put things right,in his own time.x

Thanks for the post, Flipper. The "1914 generation" teaching is a perfect example of how the WT Society promulgates false doctrines and teachings of men. When you mention your elderly parents, it reminds me of Proverbs 13:12 which reads "expectation postponed is making the heart sick."

The WT Society has been in the business of speculating and falsely predicting the end of the world for almost exactly 130 years now. Sure, the Society has become a bit more crafty in recent decades--for example, identifying the "generation of 1914" as the terminal point for this system of things instead of predicting dates like they did for 1914, 1915, 1918, and 1925.

But the modern Society is selling the same stuff ("Millions Now Living Will Never Die") in slicker packaging. They've learned to be crafty enough to give themselves some wiggle room--no more firm dates, just sly innuendo. And as long as we're alive there are going to be some people gullible and desperate enough to follow these men. And when we're gone, Armageddon will be nowhere to be found.

If i was told armegeddon was coming next week and it didnt I truly wouldnt leave Jehovah because of it.I love worshipping him,he sks nothing of me but to be me and try my best, thats fine :)

If a brother says the end was coming within months and he was wrong why leave Jah??? Also was that the only reason people came into the truth because they wanted to be saved? Satan will use all tools to mislead us,serving Jah wether or not we make armegeddon doesnt matter to me,serving him is simple and if the wt are liers then why do they also make serving Jah simple?

Im not having ago,i know typed word can seem that way,i just love Jah so much my heart bursts with love for him and my brothers(which is you guys too)x

I personally knocked on doors to tell people the lie that the people who "saw 1914" would live to see Armageddon.

One of the things that helped me to escape WT was to internalize my active participation in a dishonest scam. To make matters worse, we were using "the word of God" to justify our deceptions. A wee bit embarrassing and humiliating, to say the least.

    Thanks for the thread Flipper.

Back in the 80's as i was about to leave school i was told 'why polish the brass on a sinking ship? The generation that seen 1914 are in their 70's now.' So i did the honourable thing, never sought an education, window cleaned part time and pioneered.

Now in 2009 i still window clean. I am now getting an education, but there was so many lost years when i could have set myself up to do what i wanted.

Angeleyes leaving a man made organisation that constantly gets it's prophesying wrong is not the same as leaving Jehovah, I find it interesting that your posts seem to suggest that it is.

SON of MAN- You say that Jesus prophecies will come to pass no matter what religion you or I follow. O.K. Suppose you are right. Still - You have to acknowledge that when J.F. Rutherford - then president of the WT society announced that " millions now living will never die" - that it was false ! A lie for sure. All those people living then are DEAD. So We ARE NOT in the time of " the end". It has NOT happened - yet- so all the chronology you want to post here does you no good. It's futile. IF Jesus words come true - apparently it's meant to happen some time in the distant future- because it hasn't come yet !

Depending on when he stated this I would have to agree that he was no correct. However, he was correct in his way of thinking to an extent just not correct as to the "time period". What brought me to the teachings of the JW's was fulfillment of prophecy. The time period at 1914 when world wars broke out would have misled "MANY". Allow me to set the thiinking straight.

4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU ; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 Y OU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

From the year "1914" 90 years later is when Jesus Christ took his throne (give or take months). Like in the days of Noah when many were taken away by the flood so the son of man will be (paraphrased). The many floods especially the Tsunami in the Middle East was fulfillment of this prophecy. The teaching that the W.T.S. follows where they feel that the nations will turn against religion has been fulfilled in respect to those known as the "Nation of Islam". These are descendants of Ishmael and whom "Michael the Arch-Angel" represents whom is Jesus Christ.

    Michael is derived from "ISHMAEL"

Arch is derived from "Ishmael the "Archer"

Angel is derived from the "Angel that appeared to Hagar"

So the fulfillment of "Many" prophecies has occurred and come to pass therefore I am.......

    Flip,

I've said it before, but this was the straw that broke the camels back for me.

Three different meanings in 15 years?

All you need is common sense to realize that this is an F'd up religion.

    Flipper,

Don't forget that the lie is still in print... in the "Reasoning" book:

    *** rs p. 97 pars. 2-3 Dates ***

As shown under the heading “Last Days,” those events have been clearly in evidence since 1914. Before the last members of the generation that was alive in 1914 will have passed off the scene, all the things foretold will occur, including the “great tribulation” in which the present wicked world will end.—Matt. 24:21, 22, 34.

When will the end of this wicked world come?

Jesus answered: “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” However, he also stated: “Truly I say to you that this generation [that was alive when “the sign” of “the last days” began its fulfillment] will by no means pass away until all these things occur.”—Matt. 24:36, 34.

    *** rs p. 136 par. 3 False Prophets ***

The Scriptures provide time elements related to Christ’s presence, and Jehovah’s Witnesses have studied these with keen interest. (Luke 21:24; Dan. 4:10-17) Jesus also described a many-featured sign that would tie in with the fulfillment of time prophecies to identify the generation that would live to see the end of Satan’s wicked system of things. (Luke 21:7-36)

    *** rs p. 234 Last Days ***

The present wicked system of things, which extends worldwide, entered its last days in 1914, and some of the generation alive then will also be on hand to witness its complete end in the “great tribulation.”

What indicates that we today are living in “the last days”?

The Bible describes events and conditions that mark this significant time period. “The sign” is a composite one made up of many evidences; thus its fulfillment requires that all aspects of the sign be clearly in evidence during one generation. The various aspects of the sign are recorded at Matthew chapters 24, 25, Mark 13, and Luke 21; there are further details at 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 2 Peter 3:3, 4, and Revelation 6:1-8. By way of illustration, we will consider a few outstanding portions of the sign.

They certainly didn't protect themselves with "we currently believe" or "we may need to clarify this later". There is no room for "interpretation". The END was to come within 80 years of 1914. They are liars and false prophets. They can't even update the "Reasoning" book with their explanation that "this generation" started in 33 CE!

And anyone that would make a statement like this...

"many brothers would take things out of context and drill it into their children that they wouldnt bring children up in this system etc but thats them who misinformed and took the information and handled it wrong"

... is also a LIAR! Watchtower Corporation false prophecies are still in print. The "Reasoning" book still teaches that the end WILL come before 1994! They didn't get new light from Jehovah. Time proved them wrong. Every passing year since 1914 and into the future proves them LIARS! FRAUDS! PHARISEES!

Anyone that continues to believe the JW dogma is going to have to learn to be WRONG!

    B the X
