I have bagless vaccuums made by Dirt Devil, Eureka and Hoover, and everyone of them works great...even on pet hair.

Out at Last!
I use a hoover bagless I bought at Kmart two years ago for less than $100. It worked great on Rottweiler hair, which she is always shedding. I would highly reccomend.

Since 4/11/2005Simple, if you have a two level house, you have two vacuums, three level house, three vacuums, saves dragging one up and down and back again. When you have back and leg problems (of which I have both), the last thing you want to do is constantly drag things up and down stairs.

Dyson DC01
The first model, an 'upright' vacuum cleaner. The DC01 was the first vacuum cleaner made by Dyson priced for use in a normal household. It used patented Dual Cyclone technology created by James Dyson. It was released in 1993 and was a best seller in the UK.
i bought one of these when they were new out. its since been dropped downstairs, had a nylon jumper welded to the roller, nothing a stanley blade couldnt shave off, abused completely with everything from chimney soot to builders dust its still going strong. admittedly it cost an arm and a leg back then but i cant complain.
if it ever plays up it either needs a five minute base unscrew and dust out or unblock or.....filter change, and once in a blue moon .....belt change, all of which can be done with a butterknife if you cant find a screwdriver.
if the filters need changing the dyson will cut out in order to stop them burning out the engine. people assume the regular cutting out means the machine is defunct and throw them away, when they could have just changed or washed the filters.

I have severe back problems, and my left leg is partially paralyzed due to nerve damage. I could still use the stairs when we bought our house seven years ago, so I had a vacuum for each floor.

I appreciate the Dyson recomendation guys, but the day I pay that much for a vacuum is the day I castrate myself and start painting my fingernails. $100 is extravagant by my standards.

Don't buy the Hoover! Some of the family of the guy that founded Hoover vacuums were Dubs from Tulsa, Oklahoma. If you buy it you might get reverse-demons! Objects will mysteriously not float across the living room, and if you try to burn it you won't hear the awful screams of demons.
It's too much to risk damnit! Just buy the Dyson.
