I told my Dad on the weekend that the WTS's policy regarding pedophilia is not protecting children in the congregrations. And that this policy is in direct conflict with the Bible. My father had no reply. I hope I gave him something to think about.

Flipper, I want to thank you for posting this. Your SUBJECT line acted like a catalyst and I had a little flash of insight. The WTB&TS is saying,
"Obey the Slave -- Ignore the MASTER!"

disclaimer: I am not a Christian, but I can see the inconsistency and hypocrisy of an organization that claims to be Christian, an organization that places its own publications before the Bible it claims to believe in.

Sounds much like the same kind of crap they started doing in the early 1980s after the Ray Franz thing got out.
There was really quite a bit of bait and switch:
First would come a really mild article about loving your brothers, your conscience, etc. Then, from out of the blue, either an article like this or a talk on the dangers of apostacy.
You never could tell which turn the next information was going to take. I was pretty convinced that back then we were seeing a moderate faction at a war of words with a truly hard-line control faction.
Under the subheading " Cherish our Place- How ? " It states we have to cooperate fully with the " faithful and discreet slave ". It continues, " We need to examine our response to the direction we receive from the slave class . Over the years , for example, we have received pointed directionon dress and grooming , entertainment , and IMPROPER USE OF THE INTERNET . Do we carefully heed this good counsel so that we are spiritually protected ? "
I just caught this, the third time reading it. The phrase "pointed direction". This phrase is subtle yet, um, pointed (sorry) to indicate to the dubs that the counsel in these areas are not recommendations but direct instructions.
All JWs know that counsel is continuously given about grooming, entertainment and the Internet yet many justify their own thinking. But here's Mother telling them that the "pointed directoin" is to be "carefully heeded" so they are "spiritually protected". There is no room for conscience or individuality.
Please be aware that I am not an active Jehovah’s Witness, but, I have read the magazine meant for Congregation Studying" and tried to find what you are referring to. So, will you say what page it’s on, paragraph and so on and or just scan it PDF for the benefit of those of us who don’t have the magazine, rather than making outlandish accusations, even the sub heading is not in the magazine at question. That is the mark of a good journalist.
If I find the right information, because I am a bit thick skulled, I will eat Crow In Front Of You All, I would not put anything past the GB, they are nothing more than Demigods.
Can you spell "Inquisition"? "Torquemada"? what really gets to me is the fact that once I would lap that (*&(*& up like it was lemonade on a hot summer day... Now I read this and only feel pity for those in ... specially my family...
Maybe just maybe their moving out of Brooklyn completely is a cowering attempt to hide themselves in a rural area,
moving to take some publicity and highlight away.
They have taken away a public book study and they have started using a members only Watchtower,
that makes it clear they're starting to feel the heat of information about them from the media and the inter-net.
Don't ever second guess that they would change their name and reform into something slightly different,
these guys are playing the power and money game their way, without any rules or intervention
from any governorship.
