I see prayer being answered as load of hoohah.
If we think its answered in the way we want = god did it
If we think its not answered, perhaps it is in a way we didnt expect =god did it
If its not answered at all = we must wait on god (the good ol' god works in mysterious ways)
I believe we have the power to influence what we 'get'. Karma if you will. So many good things come to us if we are open to them, so many of these things were once attributed to God.
If in my times of stress i had prayed for relief, a happy wife and my cars (i have/had many toys) then i guess i would have said God answered my prayers. BUT i did not ask. I did it myself through hard work and learning to love myself.
I have so many blessings in my life that i am truely thankful for, but not to 'God'.

Let me get this straight. You asked God to use your sinful life as a sort of payment in exchage for a favor, right?
So, what's the problem?

Perry - just shut up. I need no more of your mean-spirited Christianity.
You know damned well what I meant. I meant that I had given God everything and he didn't care enough to answer my simple request. I hope you find yourself in that goddamned situation someday and some of your Christian friends just jump on your sinful nature.
First of all - if God didn't answer 'sinners' prayers - just whose prayers would he answer? What I meant was that I had given my all to serve him - not that I expected to enter into a trade with God. He answered the prayers of those cited above who only wished to go and kill more of their enemies - why couldn't he answer mine - was it because I didn't want to go kill women and children and rape their land?
You are really the ideal proof of the stupidity of religion. Just jump on a 'you are a sinner so what do you expect' bandwagon.

I threw all my chips on the table. I asked for my entire life record to be used as leverage for this simple request.
Sounds like God gave you what you asked for to me. ... You asked God to use your sinful life as a sort of payment in exchage for a favor, right? So, what's the problem?
He asked for God to review his record, like collateral on a loan, to show God that he was worthy of his help in this matter.
The problem was, he hasn't gotten an answer, yes or no. If the answer is supposedly apparent in that things have gotten worse, then God is not a merciful, loving God...he's a dick...just like you.

Thank you UC. That is precisely the point I was trying to make, though I can't imagine it was as foggy as MR Self-Righteous Christian made out.

Your welcome, Jeff. I was hoping that I wasn't overstepping in any kind of way...but that self righteous arrogant attitude just pisses me off.
