it's called compassion.
it wa an attempt at a cruel and unusual joke ;-)
After working two weeks in a nursing home, I told my wife to pull the plug if I ever end up in a wheel chair staring at the ceiling. Not for me, but for her. The problem is when the decision is left to someone else. The farther from the patient the more dangerous.
The biggest icon in christianity, basically suicided. Jesus/god, whowever a christian sees jesus, came to earth, the story goes, knowing full and well that he would be killed in the prime of his life. Purposely putting yourself in mortal danger is suicide. Being that imitating jesus is the prime christian directive, the christian aversion to ending a hopeless life seems silly. Of course, in america, w their stand against universal health care, they make up for it.

Mad D,
I agree when you see and experience it up close and personal the more we can be compassionate, out of site out of mind as they say. It appauls me that some would argue against letting a person die with dignity on their own terms.
