Plenty of room on the special express crazy-train, I see...

Really, Jwoods, nobody was killed except for the mad man. He was too miserable to live anyway and now he is gone. Why all the hostility?

Actually, they are now reporting, as BizzyBee notes, that a 67-year old IRS employee WAS killed in the building. Plus at least one other person is seriously injured.

However - even if no one was killed - yes: I DO HAVE SERIOUS HOSTILITY OVER SOMEONE DELIBERATELY ATTEMPTING A MASS MURDER OF INNOCENT PEOPLE.

What you are posting here is tantamount to saying that acts of terror are justified if a person thinks he has been abused by "the system" in the slightest degree. So, Timothy McVeigh and Ted Kaszynski (in their own minds and by your judgement) were JUSTIFIED???

Sane, law-abiding, responsible people do not think this way and do not agree.

Rob, as has been pointed out,

an innocent man inside the building was killed

and two were seriously injured. The damage to the building looks to be massive. The other people inside the building, including the wife of the innocent victim, will carry this trauma for the rest of their lives.

Why not a little righteous indignation?

BizzyBee - thanks, and I now leave this nonsense with you.

I have come to think we are being trolled.

Seriously, Bin Laden's beefs with the US government are far more legitimate than this guys'.

    JWoods,

I'm done. When there is more empathy for a narcissistic murderer than for innocent people just doing their jobs - well, what more is there to say? Unfortunately, I don't think Rob is a troll.

I don't have a hardcore opinion one way or the other regarding this story, but for the curious, go to Google, and type in "Joe Stack" and "Hero". Makes for some good reading.

Interesting. This guy was politically up for grabs at first, but with the liberals condemning his actions and the right-wing applauding him as a hero, I guess they win the prize: "Joe Stack, right-wing nutjob."

For what it is politically worth, on another site I go to (which is about 90% right winger Ferrari owners) - NOBODY has anything good to say about this nutjob. And practically NONE are fans of the IRS, either.

I simply don't understand any sympathy or support for the guy - no more than the 9/11 killers, Unabomber, or Tim McVeigh. None of them had a justifiable reason to do what they did.

EDIT TO ADD - this kind of stuff does tend to pull out the truly whacked 10% or so of either the left or the right - a lot of people (on both sides) gave rise to the 9/11 TRUTHERS, but most I think were deluded leftists who hated the U.S. in general. Wingnuts on the right with a beef against the Tax Code or IRS may be picking this lunatic as their latest banner boy - but not reasonable conservatives or reasonable liberals.

It is sicko BS on both sides to support this kind of crazy killing.
