I was doing some inquiries on Ozzie Osbourne and somehow Marie Osmonds name came up. I noticed something about her son dying but didn't realize it had just happened.

Thank you for posting this..very sad news.

Depression is a very hard thing to treat and handle from what I have seen and heard.

It has to be hard on relatives trying to figure out how to help their loved ones.

    very sad news.

I wonder if the mormons suffer abnormally high rates of suicides like I have personally observed among Jehovah's Witnesses. There are many factors that contribute to high suicide rates among JWs that are probably common with mormons.

I long for the day when these kinds of religions will no longer have this kind of effect on innocent people.

I heard Marie was getting right back to the stage next week as part of a show with Donnie. I was like, are you freaking kidding me?

All I know is Mormons can't send flowers ... or dance.

I wasn't aware that Mormons had any medication restrictions.

Also, I don't think we have any knowledge of what went on between Marie and her children to be able to pass judgment. We have no idea what measures she took to help her son.

She has suffered a terrible loss and I feel for her having to go through this in the judgmental public eye.

Boner from Growing Pains killed himself a week or so ago, too. He was the son of Walter Koenig (best known for playing Alfred Bester on Babylon 5 and Pavel Chekov on Star Trek).

Suicide is always sad, no matter who it is.

    Obviously many non-cultists suicide too

Mormons are not a religious cult ? I think you need to have an insightful look at the Mormons,

you might want to change that statement. They are actual very cultish just like the JWS.

I was saying Mormons are a cult. Many non-cultists suicide as well, so the cause is not cultism alone, but it seems to be a higher risk among high control groups.

In fact, I interviewed some ex-Mormons and created a chart comparing them to dubs. Click here to read it.

I wasn't aware that Mormons had any medication restrictions.

According to about a dozen of ex-Mormons I've talked to over the years, they do. It's something they don't publicize. Has something to do with their anti-alcohol, anti-caffeine doctrines, IIRC.

Coming from Utah.....and having Mormon relatives.......

Its common for LDS wives and mothers to take anti-depressants. Like the JW's, they don't like to publisize their problems
