Will you sink or swim with Jehovah's Organization? June 15, 2010 study article

I think I would rather swim with the sharks. The "safe" waters are filled with pedophiles and those who would silence the victims (which may or may not be the same people). There is absolutely nothing of any good in the congregation--and the "sharks" are generally not dangerous. In fact, unprovoked shark attacks on people are very rare--most sharks will simply ignore people.

They discuss someone leaving the cancer and getting pregnant. Now, what happens when someone chooses to stay in the cancer, marries a tyrant, gets abused verbally (and sometimes physically), and their children get molested by pedophiles within the ranks? Not to mention, those children are afraid that they are going to get destroyed, and if one of them ever decides to take time out or that it is not the truth, everyone else is going to cut that one off. On top of the houndings to always do more, never getting enough sleep, and the crap jobs they are allowed to do. Has anyone else noticed that many of the witlesses are getting sick and dying in their 40s, 50s, and early 60s--largely from eating fast, good-tasting poison every day for lunch to keep their time going?

There is, in fact, no advantage to anyone but Jehovah that you serve Jehovah. He demands that you give up anything meaningful, live an austere and miserable life, and work exclusively for Him or else He will destroy everything you have. This is blatant extortion! If God is going to throw a tantrum every time anyone wants to improve themselves or society, I would just as soon not support it.

If breaking the law or copyright issues are an issue, I recommend putting commentary in between some of the paragraphs. That way, it becomes a review of the article and not a copying the whole article. And there isn't a damn thing they can do about it--those Comments You Will Not Hear posts are a prime example.

Otherwise, you are actually doing the public a favor. The Washtowel is not going to make any money selling this to the public, and the witlesses themselves are going to have to "purchase" their own copy (for a voluntary donation, which I hope is nothing) anyways. It is just their unwillingness to have this embarrassing information used against them in court that makes them sue-happy.

Sad that the FDS/GB has so little faith in mankind. They must be scared of this site because more and more JW are coming here only to find out what a

    "Spiritually speaking, many
churchgoers have been left bewildered and
disoriented, questioning the value of the
    guidance that they have received.
    That is especially
so in the light of the questionable
conduct and unscriptural teachings of their
    religious leaders
    ."

Interesting that this does not apply to them. Anyone who feels "bewildered and disoriented, questioning the value of the guidance they have received" from the GB is immediately sent to a Judicial Committee. God forbid you actually bring up the "unscriptural teachings of their religious leaders". Instant apostate! Therefore everyone "IN" the ORG is happy and content and submissive. Ridiculous circular reasoning, but nothing new for JWs. (The FDS was selected in 1918, and we know that because the FDS/GB tells us so.)

"Today, the world is a dangerous place for
    Christians. (2 Tim. 3:1-5)"

The writer mentions "Today" and then references 2 Timothy which was written about 67 AD, almost 2,000 years ago.

Did anyone notice that this article makes sweeping statements, but contains few details?

    This is propaganda!

The writer has to write this stuff for their living! Horrible.

Because of their firm stand for divinely
inspired principles, God’s people have acted
differently from those who surround them.

Yep, Dinah's brothers certaintly "acted differently from those who" surrounded them.

You know, a high school kid could have written this article. They gave no proof that things are really better in the KH than in the Methodist or Catholic church down the street. A hard look using accurate facts might show that the JW's are actually doing worse financially and emotionally than their neighbors.

For the vast majority, this will be a follow-up study from the Summer conventions on a similar theme.
