that those presumed anointed within the context of Watchtower-sponsored doctrine

That's correct. That would be especially in pre 1935 era and after considering that many from that era were still living after 1935. Even today the congregation of jws is mostly women. I would think that now though the majority of women are of color though not necessarily of the anointed. I guess I assumed wrongly you were discussing the WTS and its doctrines...I'm not familiar with nor have the interest or time to look into what the teachings are in other religions. I might say that I am old enough to have known quite a few of the Bible Student anointed and some of the demography from reports of my family who were in the organization back then, 1920 and onward.

I have great respect for AQuest as a long standing member of JWD/JWN and her outstanding work to expose the WBT$ over the years is exemplary. In fact, I appreciated her candor and humility in boldly expressing her faith as a claimant to the 144000 heirs. Mark you, those within the dubland cannot master the courage to come forward to claim entitlement to a questionable number that is suposedly already 'sealed' effective 1935. What surprised me was that, I never at all expected to discover a claimant , part of another breed of 144000 outside the WTS-sponsored group. It was certainly a reality check for me.

No worries, though - I think dear Scott was meaning to just address the issue of WTBTS "144,000" (why do I always want to type WTBS??) ... and I responded regarding the 144,000 mentioned in John's Revelation, which he apparently thought was strange. I may be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me.
Dear Scott (may you also have peace!), if I am correct, please know that I only responded so because you stated that you KNEW it was a fictitious number (sorry, dear one, but it isn't)... and that you were "concerned". I thought that maybe if you knew the truth behind the REAL 144,000... you might not only see that the number is indeed literal, but perhaps become... ummmmm... a little less concerned. I'd like to address what you last posted, though, if I may - thank you!

I don't think information about the W. R. Brown is "previously unknown" to everyone. Among those black JWs that I associated with his existence was well-known and often discussed. Unfortunately, he was also discussed among the... let's say "non-black" JWs so that we don't go drawing lines in the sand... whenever the fact that there wasn't a black person on the GB was brought up. I've been told that at one time, (former?) JW Firpo Carr may have aspired to such a position but that, unfortunately, it wasn't to be and so he had to seek HIS fame elsewhere (perhaps as psuedo-spokesperson for the Jackson family?). But the lack of "representation" WAS a bone of contention...
This profoundly raises more questions than answers. Assuming 'Bible' Brown was already anointed before 1914 and the number was sealed by 1935, how comes then explains the GB's appointment of Samuel Hards and more, an increase in new breeds of 144000 claimants born after 1914?
This question doesn't start with Samuel Herd so much as it does with Gerritt Loesch. And I wrote and asked about that. The answer? Starting with Mr. Loesch, et al., these "new breeds" are actually "replacments" (which the WTBTS ultimately published in a WT - I don't remember which, though). Funny thing about THAT, though, is that if such are REPLACEMENTS... why the heck is the number going UP? To "replace"... means something (here, someone)... has been DISPLACED. So, I'm thinking that the number should stay the same. Right? AND... that quite a LOT of "old breeds" have "fallen away" as evidenced by their being disfellowshipped. Right? But over 2,000 of them??
Come on... if ONE "anointed" fell away... got disfellowshipped... etc., there would be news about it. Certainly, if 10. Definitely if 100. Absolutely if 1,000. And we're talking about more than 2,000. Unless... the WTBTS is trying to keep it quiet (which WOULD serve their purpose)... but I don't think so. I mean, if "they" cant keep the rank and file from knowing why a mere publisher was DF'd... they CERTAINLY wouldn't be able to hide that an "anointed" had falled away and/or been disfellowshipped.
And what about those who've died? Even if, say, some were being "replaced"... but say, for argument's sake... they still partook... so that the "slot" is double counted... you would STILL have a decrease for those who died during the year. Thus, any increase would be minimal. And yet, when I left the WTBTS in 1997... the number was 8,687 (or something like that - I don't really keep track any more). Last year, though, it was, what, getting close to 11,000?
This very phenomena... that the number is steadily increasing... should be evidence that (1) the number was never "closed" (indeed, the Spirit and the Bride KEEP saying "Come!" even to this day)... (2) they actually have NO idea WHO the 144,000 are... or where they hail from... and (3) they really are the false prophets that they are.
Also, since JW religion is exclusively an American creation, cannot we conclude that 99.98 percent of 144000 claimants were white American?
99.98 percent of THEIR "144,000" claimants, yes. Which I understand is what you're speaking of. But I wish that you would also state more clearly that you ARE only speaking of their false teaching. Because there are many here who are still trying to grasp the truth of these things and how you're stating this might be a bit confusing (i.e., lead them to believe that, although the method of counting is wrong, the JW 144,000 really ARE of the 144,000... which they are not. Including my "old-breed" friends, unfortunately. True, such ones may have heard the CALL... but so long as they stayed in "her"... they could not be chosen. No one can be until they at least "get OUT of her"... and QUIT touching the "unclean" thing...)

You are correct. Shelby indeed surprised me alot. I did LMAO. She has her own way of skillful articulation of the new 144000 breed and I now believe, she was swayed me to the extent that I now agree she may have legitimate claim to her place from that number. Though still, I am doubtful of that 144000 as not being literal. As long as the door is still 'open', and being outside the Watchtower-sponsored version of the 144000, a number Shelby does not believe is an exclusive preserve of GB-approved outfit, everyone can reach out to grab it. By the way, Shelby, please tell me, what happened during the recent memorial? What did you do and how did you do it? While i n the dublad, you was only the one who staked a claim to it? Why do you think you was denied or looked down upon?

No, there were about eight of us "new breeds" who associated together fairly regularly (everyone else was becoming a little leery), and most of us knew at least 1-2 others... and saw them fairly regular, too. I still see a few of them (all but a couple moved from the area, though, including me).
Why do you think you was denied or looked down upon?
By the GB (i.e., "hired man")... because they're imposters and so fear the real thing. And they know the real thing knows they're imposters... and fear being exposed by them.
By the elders (i.e., "wolves" and "blind guides")... because I didn't hide who I was. I partook and when asked admitted it. I could even explain... which apparently was something "they" couldn't do. Also, per them, "If you really WERE, you would ACT like it..." meaning, I wouldn't talk about it... or partake. Because, of course, it's NOT something to rejoice over. At least, per them. (Anyone ever wonder why non-JW "christians" tend to be a little more joyful... and rejoice about their prospect of being children of God... while JW treat it almost as if it's some kind of a CURSE?)
By the R&F (i.e., "blind" being led by the "blind guides")... some of them actually said why and did so when I was within earshot, so I know they were addressing me: "IF God was going to chose someone, it would be someone like [Brother/Sister/Elder/Pioneer/Bethelite/Missionary/Way Long Years in the 'trooth'... but certainly not someone like..." and then I would get the quick look and look away thing. Because I was, in their very "humble" opinions... not "worthy." Why? Because if THEY weren't... if "Jehovah" hadn't called THEM... He certainly hadn't called me. I was young-ish... black... only auxiliary pioneered... and well, didn't LOOK like whatever it is an "anointed" one is supposed to look like. Again, in their "humble" opinion...
