    Hi Shelby,

    Can you please clarify about Firpo Carr. What really happened to him? Was he kicked on the curb by the WTBS? Shelby, I believe that the information about 'Bible' Brown as brought up by Blondie, were previously unknown to me and possibly to more newbies around here. Now with the increase of memorial partakers as of last year, a trend most likely to be repeated this time, the whole notion of GB-sponsored doctrine of a sealed 144000 literal number, is going to face scritiny.

    I knew about Bible Brown, but any anointed that I personally knew of was White.

    When I truly believed WT doctrine, I used to take comfort from the Ethiopian eunuch whom Philip baptized, thinking that at least some 1st century anointed were Black.

    Seriously.

    If you consider when "Bible" Brown was baptized (along with his wife) and that he preached to and made many converts (blacks since he would not have been preaching to whites due to the racial attitudes of his day) and that all Bible Students back then were anointed....there was a somewhat substantial community of black WT members throughout the world all anointed. He continued preaching after 1935, so it is likely fewer were anointed then. There were conventions for blacks only in areas of segregation. I doubt any black anointed would have been used in the higher administrative positions of the WTS because of the WTS fear of the prejudice (their own and outside).

    AGuest- If you want to contradict what jesus said you are no more than a blasphemer . He said to sell all you own if you are a member of the little flock because they've been given the kingdom and as far as the criminal next to him , he never said anything about co rulership he said "you will be with me in paradise," which means the paradise earth. By one act of faith the criminal wiped out all his sins. Jesus never even went to heaven until 40 days after his resurrection , so there's noway you can interpret him as saying on that very day either. My opinion on women is also suportable by scripture.

    In my experience, when a women partook at the memorial she was labeled as crazy. Funny thing is....they typically were somewhat touched...ROFL.

    I think the touched part goes for the great crowd as well .I did tell them my opinion one time and they totally freaked out , ok then why does Revelation say they don't defile themselves with women ? To me it means they give up their sexual apetite or relations to preach the kingdom message far and wide . I can agree that the apostle Paul writings are very conflicting on the subject . One minute it's ,be as if you don't have a wife and the next it's give the wife her due in bed . They do also have to die at the hands of political oposers , I don't believe natural causes qualify.

    Russell was very lukewarm (and by todays standards racist) in converting black & coloured people...

    1898 "God .. evidently has been a respecter of races, and has specially blessed and favored certain branches of the Aryan race in Europe and America.. the white race has been more abundantly blessed with the light of the Gospel than others .. the elect Church will probably be composed chiefly of the highly favored white race.." {EVOL 30-1}

    1900 "There are probably as many as a hundred colored brethren on the Watch Tower lists, some of them very clear in the truth, and very earnest in its service, financially and other-wise .. [but they are not allowed to participate in the "pioneer work" as] although we have received letters from several of these, who had intended engaging in the volunteer work, expressing surprise that in the call for volunteers in the March 1, 1900 issue we restricted the inquiry to white Protestant churches. .. The reason is that so far as we are able to judge, colored people have less education than whites - many of them quite insufficient to permit them to profit by such reading as we have to give forth. Our conclusion therefore is based upon the supposition that reading matter distributed to a colored congregation would more than half of it be utterly wasted, and a very small percentage indeed likely to yield good results. We advise, therefore, that where the Watch Tower literature is introduced to colored people it be not by promiscuous circulation, but only to those who give evidence of some ear for the truth. We avoid, so far as possible, putting the pearls of present truth into the hands of the vicious and depraved .." {ZWT Apr 15 1900 122}

    Judge Dread you forgot Brown's wife and those he brought into the WTS prior to 1935. And there were many b ased on the Yearbook accounts which would take too much of my time to document here.
