A Visit From The Reformed Village Strumpet

After a nervous breakdown, I stopped attending meetings in 2005.

I still live in the same place, have the same phone #, and work at the same job. After about two visits by the elders to "encourage" me, I have been pretty much left alone. My college daughter is still very much a zealous JW, in fact she was on the circuit assembly program 2 weeks ago.

Well, this rabid JW, who once caused a scandal by her most un-JW-like conduct, (I refer to her as a reformed strumped) is calling on the woman who lives across from me. This JW used to pass by with her nose in the air and refuse to speak, but yesterday she saw fit to tell me how well my daughter handled her assembly part. I listened politely, steeling myself for the inevitable question as to why I quit the meetings.

Sure enough, it wasn't long in coming. I told her I couldn't stomach the meetings because the "slave"has pushed Jesus of Nazareth aside and is occupying His place in the hearts and minds of JW's. Of course, she didn't like that! She began to bluster and stutter something about how the "slave" has opened up the Scriptures for our understanding.

I countered that apparently the "slave" needs something opened up for their understanding, since so many changes have been made! She began to squirm at that and muttered something about "new light." She also made the assertion that SATAN had apparently got a hold of my mind. I let that pass and continued to point out the inconsistencies in WT doctrine and the Bible.

She prepared to leave in a huff, asking if I'd talked to the brothers. I replied that I hadn't, but would tell the brothers the same things that I'd told her.

I'm getting ready for a call or a visit within the next week; I know old girl will not let her skirt tail hit her fanny until she gives the brothers an earful! I regret the day I got involved with this crazy cult!

I think we all regret ever getting invoved in this crazy cult. But good for you in standing up to this woman, its always nice to read about poor fools who get flustered and can't come back with an answer when they are told the truth.

Oh, since my estranged husband is Jamaican, she insinuated that he may be dabbling in voodoo and that could be the cause of my break with them. Now, I didn't see that coming!

LOL, it's always Satan and his tricksy ways when you have a rational thought that the WTS didn't insert in your head.

I had a sister insist it was my science fiction books and artwork that were causing me not to come to the meetings once when I had one of my long inactive periods. Yes, Star Trek is the DEVIL!

It couldn't be that you've gotten tired of being brainwashed and being forced to swallow unprovable and ridiculous, superstitious ideas.

I crack up when they call voodoo and paganism "superstition". They have enough of their own superstitions and urban myths to fill the Grand Canyon, everything from talking demonized Smurf dolls (Here Comes Chuckie!) in the Kingdom Hall to lightening only hitting and killing a "false" Witnesses on a country road, to angels protecting sisters door to door by becoming visible only to a householder who was a serial killer/rapist, whatever.

One other thing, the lady on whom she is calling told me that she will be going to the Special Talk on April 18, not because she's interested, but wants to see how the talk will square with the Bible.

Thinks are getting quite interesting around the 'hood.
