    Could it be....SATAN!??
LOL, it's always Satan and his tricksy ways when you have a rational thought that the WTS didn't insert in your head.
I had a sister insist it was my science fiction books and artwork that were causing me not to come to the meetings once when I had one of my long inactive periods. Yes, Star Trek is the DEVIL!

    Oops!

    Just saw this.

Yes, disagree with the WT on any point, and Satan is messing with your heart and mind!

    Crazy.

    O

Oh, since my estranged husband is Jamaican, she insinuated that he may be dabbling in voodoo and that could be the cause of my break with them.

    I've wondered this myself.

I told her I couldn't stomach the meetings because the "slave"has pushed Jesus of Nazareth aside and is occupying His place in the hearts and minds of JW's.

I love this. In fact, the only time I ever seemed to cause a JW coming to my door to at least look uncertain was when I mentioned replacing or denying Jesus in the Memorial.

Great job holding your ground. And at least the lady across the way has someone to speak to who has been in and out of the WT. Hope you keep us posted.

Thanks. It was like a dam had been released!

Yes, ma'am, I made sure she knows just what to expect.

    Hope you keep us posted.

    To be sure, Tammy.

I wish I could have been a fly on the wall, Sylvia.

I've heard some things come out of my Mom's mouth that just make my jaw drop sometimes. She blamed my reading Stephen King novels with my "turning away from Jah" that and The Stones.

How do you think your daughter will react? And yes, I see an elder visit in your near future. No, I don't have powers from the devil, I've been around long enough to know what comes next. hee hee

Give 'em a good dose of hades, there, Sylvie!

I know in a lot of your experiences as a recovering JW ("your" meaning the entire Jehovahs-Witness.net community) the luxury of not ever speaking to these ppl again isn't likely because of family members, ect., and Aunt DevoutJW would be furious if you didn't talk to Elder NeverWentToHighSchool.....But weren't you tempted to throw the bitch off your lawn? Or ask her how in the hell she had the right to judge you, being the "strumpet" she was? I know I'll never fully understand the complex relationships and circumstances that come with being a former cult member, and maybe it's me, but wouldn't it be nice to call a spade a spade sometimes? You all amaze me with your patience and kindness you often show these ppl who show up in YOUR OWN HOMES and talk to you like you have a mental defect (or demon, I should say). It seems like you ex-cult members are more Christian AFTER leaving then those assholes then they were ever to you during your entire experience.

dinah mentioned the question I was wondering also. If they DF you or you DA will this put a strain on you and your daughter?

Has your daughter ever been criticized for going to college?

Dinah, she was sitting in her car at the side of the road.

My daughter won't like it, but I've got to do what I've got to do. Who knows? She may follow my lead. After all, at one time, I was just as devout and zealous as she is.

Confuzzled, I'm trying to show restraint for my daughter's sake, but I know some stuff about that heifer that might make a hooker blush! It's just amazing how a dose of righteousness makes some people act.

I AM more Christian after leaving the JW's; I'm free to praise and love my Savior without fear of man's disapproval!

    Hallelujah!

    Yes it will, Gregor.

She semi-shuns me on meeting nights and assembly weekends, already.

My daughter caused some raised eyebrows by going to college, but no overt criticism; she doesn't plan on going to grad school - wants to pioneer.

I hope she changes her mind.

Also, I was putting off taking any action because my daughter's best friend is getting married on August 21. Baby Girl came by personally with an invitation and to tell me how much she loves me.

The reformed strumpet doesn't like Baby Girl's mother, so I'm definitely expecting some flies in the ointment.

    So be it.

    Sylvia
