Why I'm going to burn in Hell for eternity.

Well, I think a lot of the comments here blame God for the behavior of humans themselves or what those people THOUGHT God wanted, rather than what God actually wants.

If someone doesn't believe in God, why are they blaming him for anything at all? I don't get that, why worry about what the non-existent God is doing?

You also can't help what misled or misinformed people do either, regardless if it's religious misinformation or other sorts. I'm not person who believes God is spying on people or even listening to every word you say, or even every prayer. I love my kids but I don't need to listen to all their nonsense. LOL A lot of what people say and do is crap, really. I wouldn't be listening to it all if I were God. There has to be more interesting things to do than be Big Monitor in the Sky all eternity for a piss ant species like us.

It's kind of human arrogance to compare God to what humans do. Humans tend to think, If I were God, I wouldnt do that! But, if you were God, not only would you be operating on a different plane of thought and existence and be pretty unfathomable to humans on this one in a lot of ways.

If you're blaming God for all the bad stuff you see people doing, but none of the good stuff, well, that's hardly fair or even very rational, is it? Can't have it both ways, if you think God is screwing up your life, you have to give him cred for the good stuff too, if you think he's so personally doing everything for you and to you in life.

Maybe it's just you all along, huh?

He is no father of mine. He is a fraud and a coward. He is a despot. No wonder many of his followers are the same.

    Amen, Jeff.

    Perry?

God commands people to love him.

Any idea what will happen to those who cannot bring themselves to obey this greatest of all commandments?

    On a lighter note:

If in heaven we didn't meet,

Together we burned with the heat.

Although it sometimes got too hot,

I could never find the spot!

    Hello Open mind,

    You MUST love me.

And if you don't, I'll kill you.

Maybe I can put it another way. It is the classic plot, good verses evil.

The end of the story is good prevails and triumphs over evil. Some don't believe that or want the story to end that way.

Others think there is a different plot going on, there is no good or evil, no truth or lie, no absolutes.

Others think we are good and mankind will sort itself out.

Others think that good is evil and evil is good.

God has given us a choice, He is not a dictator. In fact we chose it ourselves, the "knowledge of good and evil".

Yes, He wants us to love Him (what Father wouldn't) but He won't force us-that is not love.

Personally I tried all the choices I could for many years. Ultimately I never would recommend any of them save one.

I wholly recommend choosing life, choosing freedom, choosing peace. You can find it only in one person but the offer is available on in this lifetime.

We you meet your maker you cannot go changing your mind. Jesus is your maker. Make sure you ask Him about eternity.

    Blessings,

    Stephen

    Jesus is your maker.

See, that's the point. I don't think we are going to meet our 'maker'. No one can prove we are. So preparation to meet him is like 'expecting' to meet the Queen or the President someday - the Queen or President of another planet billions of light years away that has not even been located yet, nor proven to exist. If you arose everyday, dressed for such a meeting, planned your life around such a meeting, you would be certified as insane in short order. Yet millions do the same thing in regards a god/maker that cannot be proven.

Seems tremendously silly to do such a thing. Or insane.

    Hello Jeff,

See, that's the point. I don't think we are going to meet our 'maker'. No one can prove we are.

The point is till we meet Him it is about faith.

    John 20:29 (New International Version)

29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

    As it says here

    Romans 8:24 (New International Version)

24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?

    Hebrews 11:1 (New International Version)

    By Faith
1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

By faith, I believe the time is coming for this.

    Philippians 2:10 (New International Version)

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth

Much better to bow as a royal son, heir, brother and friend of Jesus than in the dread of not knowing Him Hebrews 10:31

    Blessings,

    Stephen

Or, alternately, just pick a God, any God. Since it is all about 'faith' without evidence/proof then I choose ..... well any of the sex goddesses of history would work I suppose. They are prettier than Jesus, if his pictures are true. I like his pictures. He looks gay sometimes though.

No fear of hell. It ain't real. No wish for heaven. It is just as contrived. No bowing to Jesus - he's a dead carpenter from 2000 years ago who pissed off his local religious leaders, who got the Romans to kill him. Nothing more, nothing less. Dead. With a capital D. He can't save. You can't meet him. I shant bow to a dead man.
