Christians have one hand tied behind their back. We can't get tough with illegal aliens, because they deserve our mercy, they're the down trodden poor and we have to help them- even if it ruins our own economy in the process.

    Excellent point, Moshe!

The Lefties aren't Christians (usually or vocally) but they want to help the downtrodden while those on the Right (Evangelicals) are logical enough to know Jesus didn't invest in the Stock Market or vote Republican.

    The irony. Oh the irony

do you appreciate that a surgeon disinfects his hands, puts on gloves and sterilizes his instruments before operating? if you do then maybe you can comprehend why God Almighty couldn't enter into a world of sin but at a certain time His instrument(Jesus) could.

I've seen and read and heard many incomprehensible things in my day, but not until this day have I seen something like this.

God is great at hating the product of his own handiwork.

What I don't comprehend is people willing to defend an asserted being who is invisible, silent and supernatural when all of our human difficulty is far more relevant if we merely take our own stewardship of our life seriously and leave ghosts, bigfoot, and deities to those who drool into a cup and sell it by the quart as Truth.

I learned something from your comment, however. That God can't do......

    lol...let me try to explain...

a surgeon is responsible to help and heal you, he would be less than helpful if he introduced germs and such into an already ailing body.(sent Jesus to earth)

he also has to think of his own protection and therefore protects himself from anything you might pass to him.(the heavenly Father)

...makes sense to me...does it help you understand what I meant a bit more?

In the days of the alleged Adam & Eve, surgeons, gloves, instruments and operations did not exist. These have come about through the application of science not God.

In those days the best God could do was wander round a garden all day creating defective creatures. Perhaps he forgot to create and wear gloves and that is why they they were defective? He did however mange to communicate his plans, directly with his human children.

At what point in his evolution did he lose this ability and leave billions of humans guessing about his plans or even his existence?

...and then there is the idea that God was a little crazy to begin with.

He made humanity and expected them to do whatever his bidding was.

Humanity went its own way and He lost it.

God tried everything from outright destruction and other terrorist tactics to forming a special bond with a chosen people and giving them

exclusive membership in his admiration society.

When that went south too, God came to earth and tried a one-on-one dialogue as a human.

That went wrong too and God was killed.

The problem is that God really died. Kaput. End of story.

    Humanity, however, had other plans.

Using their wonderful powers of imagination they deconstructed all their God encounters into religious myths to help them make sense of things.

By concocting the Resurrection scenario and tacking on a Second Coming expectation the tale lives on.

Sure, it's stupid. What part of any of these stories isn't?
