I don't think using the Bible (and all that that implies) is necessary to debunk the idiotic new "generation" doctrine. In fact, since the Bible itself can be twisted to mean anything to anyone, using it may be counterproductive in this case.

I recall one interpretation of this and Revelation aslo ( ot an extent) that these visions and prophecies are PERSONAL ones and not meant to be viewed as "happening in a climatic world event", what I mean is that, these things happen to each of us at our time of death.

More recently, A Handbook on the Gospel of Matthew (1988), designed for Bible translators, said: "[The New International Version] translates this generation literally but follows with a footnote, ‘Or race.' And one New Testament scholar believes that ‘Matthew means not just the first generation after Jesus but all the generations of Judaism that reject him.' However, there is no linguistic evidence to substantiate either of these conclusions, and they must be brushed aside as attempts to avoid the obvious meaning. In its original setting the reference was solely to Jesus' own contemporaries." -

Despite all the in depth discussion here, I can assure you on 13 June 2010 when this article is discussed at KH, the significant paragraph, par 14, will be pushed through in 5 seconds flat with no discussion other than a verbatim answer from the paragraph and move on! In fact 99% of the congregation will not realise there has been any change.
