Is it unacceptable to stand up for Jehovah's Witnesses on a site called Jehovah's-Witness.net?

    Twitch,

"If you want to be nice to those who despise what you believe, what you value, essentially who you are, go for it. But I don't go to their website and stir shit up for fun."

Jehovah's Witnesses who post here are posting on a site that welcomes them to do so. JWN describes itself as: "The place to discuss anything relating to Jehovah's Witnesses and the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society... or just make new friends"

Perhaps JWN should welcome only those who have left the JW religion. That way no rude JW will come here and make trouble.

Rude gets as Rude gives, Alice should have known that when she came here.

Nobody is out to mistreat JW's, but we are not gonna be talk to like we're still

sittin' in the Kingdom Hall either.

If you have issue with the site slogan, take it up with the site admin; I don't have a problem with it. My question is, are you really concerned about Alice or someone she reminds you of? Perhaps it would be mindful not to confuse the ethics of an internet discussion group with your personal feelings for someone close to you.

    Wasblind,

In the KH we were not allowed to freely speak in disagreement. Here we are. Does it make sense to disallow a JW from speaking freely here when we claim to be free of the JW religion? So Alice says stupid and insulting stuff, does that mean we must read it or respond to it? No. Every time we respond to an insulting JW we encourage them to continue insulting us. Rather than getting upset with what what they say how about ignoring their threads altogether? Eventually they'll move on and freedom of conscience will be preserved for them and us.

Wow! Now you know my personal feelings do you? It's not enough to discuss the facts and merits of the subject being discussed but you attempt to make this a personal thing now? Why is that? Why the personal attack? I have no personal interest in this thread. What I seek is common sense.

wait a minute don't start flip flopin' on me now, at first you said: "She and others like her are encouraged here"

Maybe so, but do she have to respond ? Nooooooo.

now you say:" Does it make sense to disallow a JW from speaking freely here "

No one here has disallowed alice anything, and the same advice you call yourself givin' me

the same can be said to alice. That boat can float in two different directions baby.

    Wasblind,

"Maybe so, but do she have to respond ? Nooooooo."

We claim to be the ones who "see", Wasblind. If a JW comes here and insults us they are JWs not "seeing" folks as we claim to be. Yes, they respond, that's why they come here! If we respond as well, then we should expect them to defend themselves and yes, even at times be offending. Most of us did not go softly into the exJW night/world.
