I completely agree that the poor and ignorant who toil endlessly have no hope. Some of humanity (an astonishing number of persons!) merely exist the way farm animals exist.
Having a mind and an imagination they readily grasp the enormity of the bounteous gift offered by heaven when promised a better life.........um....later (when they are good and dead!)
So, they buy the insurance policy and make the payments (rituals, prayers, etc.) and wait for their lucky day. The day they expire.
The Catholic Church for two thousand years has known how to capture the poor into a net and wring them out for little drops of worshipful trust and a paltry coin or two.
When Communism came along the very same scam was perpetrated on the poor and underclass.
Both the Church and the Communists made ignorant poor people into a hideous army of haters. The Kings and Presidents know how to channel that hate (and fear) and point it at the enemy du jour.
By binding the underclass into a swelling throng (not thong!) of lock-step, knee-jerk, obedient yes-men great revolutions have moved mountains and petty dictators have rolled on the floor laughing at their largesse.
Controlling the weak-minded with PROMISES and REWARDS is ghastly business. It makes the poor folk feel much comforted to be on the right side with absolute truth tucked under their belt.
There is a movement afoot in America (has been since Communism began) to capture the voting power of the power, the ignorant and the easily manipulated VOTER. It is done in the CHURCHES and Christianity has learned its lessons well.
The future of the Christian Church for whites is the MEGA-church and for the blacks it is the LIBERATION THEOLOGY canard that God wants you to be rich.
The Catholic Church as given up on white middle class college educated people for this reason.
