DO YOU AGREE WITH THE WTBS PEDOPHILE POLICY?
I hadn't thought of that point, Lady Lee
MJ is sure giving the board the impression that he does.
hey BDan
I've been around the block a few times too many. Think I learned a few things along the way.
Yes there are times when an ex will make false allegations but if the cops will investigate they better make darn sure what they say is true or risk arrest themselves
MJ- There I would agree. What if it was someone ELSE'S daughter telling you?
LL:"Perhaps Mad if the ex-wife who made the false allegation knew the elders would go to the authorities and her lies would come out she never would have uttered them to begin with.
THAT too is a problem with the WT policy. Some people think they can get away with it because they know the elders won't go to the police
Think about that one a moment or two"
Mad: Now THAT is a good point! EXCEPT that SHE should have called the police...heh
DB- If the policy is 2 or more witnesses- YES, I agree. If its small kids, I'd let the police know. Older kids, or adults- I'd have them stay at my house until THEY could make arrangements to leave, call the police, whatever.
What the HELLFIRE do the Elders have to do with it????
MJ- There I would agree. What if it was someone ELSE'S daughter telling you?
The same, why should the child belonging to someone else make a difference?
Hey Josie,
You are a good one, cause as for me, my earrings would be comin' OFF
Right, MadJW. But if she does (at least now) she can be df'd because the ELDERS couldn't prove anything.
And get this, Mad:
Lets say that I am a devout JW. Very faithful. My son comes to me and tells me that he has been molested by a brother in the hall. Then lets say that me and my son go to the elders, who confront the individual. The brother denies that anything happened. I KNOW my son is not lying. However, because of a lack of 2 witnesses the elders say that it has to be dropped. Now remember, I'm faithful, so I don't go to the police. But lets say a few weeks later I see this man hanging around another young boy. It terrifies me! So discreetly I go up to the parents of that boy and warn them that this man has molested my son and they need to keep him away from their son.
What do you think happens to me if this gets back to the elders? I would get df'd. How sick is that? This is the reason that we all say on this board that the organization PROTECTS child molestors.
