They are there to debate or argue right up to the point where the householder presents them with a debate point or an argument. Then they run away.

debator
Jesus said it himself about those not interested "shake the dust off your feet off them". Jesus felt no need to get into debates or arguments with pharasees he simply gave them his position and they accepted it or rejected it. We follow his example in this.

If they say, "We're not here to convert you," a good response is, "You mean you don't want me to become a Jehovah's Witness?"

Of course, online, you don't follow his example at all. You name yourself 'debator' (homeschooled, perhaps?) and seek out debates and arguments.
Typical J-dub. Say one thing, do another.

Thanks for making me feel like a non-entity debator! Very christ-like of you.

JWs offer the householder a unique religious dogma. You have to join the WT religion to get all the benefits of their dogma. It's so valuable that you give up your life, mind, career, family to get it. It's the WT teaching that you never have to die and you will live forever on a paradise Earth. Isn't that wonderful? Who wouldn't want that? Unfortunately, the great deal turns out to be an Edsel.

Calling the Pharisees a "brood of vipers" was a little more than sharing the good news at their doors and kicking the dust of his feet.
In Acts 9:29, Paul disputed with the Greek-speaking Jews.
In Acts 15:2, Paul and Barnabas had dissension and disputing with the Judaizers.
Galatians 5:12: "I wish the men who are trying to overturn YOU would get themselves emasculated."
Jude 3: "... put up a hard fight for the faith..."

Debator is right. Paradoxically, though, Debator has refused to shake the dust off her feet and move on from this forum. This shows that it is far easier to quote Jesus than obey him.

Ha! I wish the witnesses who visit me got that memo. They like to nit pick really minute points in things I say to them. Many times when I ask them for a scripture that backs up their position they will go round and round with words and never give me one. They tell me they are "reasoning" but from what I know about reasoning you are supposed to use actual facts and rational logic, which seems to be out of these men's grasp.
