What they really mean is, don't argue or debates us. Just believe what we tell as the words coming directly from god.

I do not class these forums as ministry but simply helping people who mistakingly come on here thinking they will get information off real witnesses and find themselves in deep water with ex-Jws.

The problem with debating is you have two people in entrenched positions defending their positions probably neither will changed their mind but these forums are not just about them they also have a lot of visitors that just read the forum debates and decide from there. I post for these and not for obdurate ex-Jws that bitterly hate what they once loved and defended. What do they say about love and hate being both sides of the same coin?

    Debator the resurrected Reniaa said:

Jesus said it himself about those not interested "shake the dust off your feet off them". Jesus felt no need to get into debates or arguments with pharasees he simply gave them his position and they accepted it or rejected it. We follow his example in this.

My reply: Jesus was speaking about his message, not the WT false prophecies. That issue aside for a minute, why do you not follow Jesus advice? Oh, because you're not Christian!

The Watchtower (and JWs) are looking for people who will accept everything they say (teach) and will not ask any real questions they can't answer (wait on Jehovah)!

How many times has a householder asked a JW at their door a question the JW can't answer, the JW says they will research it and come back later with an answer, and then the JW never returns?

members and recruits from the Cult of The WTS are the most argumentative, arrogant, haughty and people so puffed up with pride you could ever hope to meet, The Reasoning From The Scriptures book should have been titled "Arguing from the Scriptures" how many times did you ever hear the experience of how a certain brother came into the WTS and his reply was " I could not win the arguments any more". Makes a mockery of the claim that they are searching for "sheep like ones" would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

I loved the debate. I thought it was the only thing worth doing in field service.

    Come on Debator: get real

Even the Watchtower writers would not be impressed with your special line of pleading.

Do something even the Watchtower is loathe to do: Credit people with enough brain cells to work out what is and is not "truth".

Sure, if I want to know what Jehovah's witnesses views are, I'll go to them. However, if I want to know the range of views of those who have left, I'll go to them firsthand.

Unlike either you or the Watchtower, I champion free inquiry and do not instil doubt in people's abilities to learn the "simple" truth about deception and hypocrisy.

The JW's in general are very limited in the ability to debate a religon because they are not allowed to read 'outside' sources. They are only encouraged to use and read things printed from the WT Society.

Therefore lack any understanding of what a person may truely believe. One example is the belief of the Trinity..

"We're just here to encourage Bible reading."

God forgive me for how many times I said that lie.

This thread went toward the absurdities of door-to-door service, but when I saw the title I briefly thought it might be directed toward the attitude of elders during judicial meetings or personal counseling of the JW membership.

Both went pretty much the same way - our way, or the highway.
