I'm with you Darth. My family is being affected SO much by this religion. If I lost my wife and kids, and an elder showed up at my door, I don't know what I'd do.

But I'm trying to remember the victimization goes up to the top. These guys think they are doing the right thing and are "keeping the congregation clean". My anger, now, is directed to the top. The policy writers. The service departement heads that create the rules. The GB and their keeping the rank and file in line!

Sadly, they are untouchable. To us at least. So I've gotta get rid of that anger too. It's not healthy. I know you're not a Christian, Darth, but loving your enemy and praying for those persecuting you is a concept that Jesus taught. And it's the only way to get past some of these anger issues.

I ain't preaching. I'm still working on it myself.

Your average elder isn't going to just show up to accuse you of wrong doing. That's when they call and ask to meet. Even then you can say, 'not interested, leave me alone'.

The downside to that is that if you're trying to fade, this blows that all to hell. They'll DF you in absentia if they really want to. Whether they do or not depends on the assholiness of the particular elders you're dealing with.

I can vouch for this personally. I was trying to fade, the wife let some info slip, and the elders wanted a meeting. I not only had to refuse the meeting, but I had to quit everything cold turkey...no more fading. They only had the rumor of one person and so we aren't DFd, but they did have local needs parts on apostasy shortly thereafter. We lost all our local friends and much of our family pretty much overnight. "Local needs" parts are nothing more than public slander of people they don't have enough info to DF.

Don't give them any power over you, Darth. Live your life and put them on "ignore."

I'm not even sure the people at Bethel or even the GB realize it's a lie.

I think they truly believe Jehovah has selected them to be the FDS and that God's kingdom on earth really revolves around them.

Had a couple of these goofballs in my home a couple of years ago at the invitation of my wife.

they were nice enough at first talking about a few bible topics but I knew where they were going with this. It was a tact that they'd heard at the last assembly they had attended. My wife had already tried to steer me into a conversation about it. Something about their organization being the figuratively modern day ark or some other such nonsense.

As soon as they tried to use the bible subject to chastise me about my spirituality, I shut them down cold by telling them that we could talk about the bible all they wanted but I was not going to sit there and have it used against me for what they perceived as something I was doing wrong.

I was not going to submit to their perceived religious authority and I was not going to be chastised in my home like some little kid.

They got the message and headed for the door pretty quick.

They didn't even want to say a prayer or shake my hand on the way out.

Thank you all for the responces... I don't think they would come to my Door...but I know these Brothers some have Balls of Brass

and if ever I found them at my Door to inform or try to help me......

They will see the Fury of Darth Plaugeis and I can take out 2-3 foolish Jedi elders who rely on their Understanding of the Force.

My side of the Family has made it known to those Foolish Elders... 1 Warning is what you get... Do what thou Must... but Never Show Your Face again!

Darth's Mom and Sister are funny.... They can make the Toughest Men Shake with Fear!

Both filled with the Darkside. My Sister and Mom drop the F bomb every other word when they Used to show up! I taught them Well.

I only Hate Elders from my Hall. I have had JW's at more door who are from this area and I am very nice to them.

True. It is a different story with my kids. I fear for anyone that hurts them!

Face book has a "like" that goes like this" hurt me and I can deal with it, hurt my children and I will bury your body where no one will find it". ( this is humor of course, no one is being threatened cya)
