psacramento do you consider yourself open minded?

Not as much as I can be and at times should be.

But I try the best I can.

that's my whole point ... if I give the Bible definition some would say opened mindness requires us to question this thought

How do we know who wrote this ? .....etc etc What does your faith , as defined by you .. do or not do for you ??

If I try define your faith I will be accused of not being logical or open minded

Sad but true we are not all on the same page ever !!

I was always taught by the org and by my father that we were being open-minded

Werent we all? I think this fact is what jumps inside me all the time. Am I open to new ideas? do I consider them? Do I listen to understand or just so I can talk when you are done?

By the way - sitting on a fence has certain advantages.

as oppose to what? Can you expand on what sitting on the fence means? and its advantages?

What part does faith play in your life... is it of any value at all in the big scheme of things (life's choices ) ?

Are you open minded about the possibility accepting things on faith ?

Faith is no longer a factor in my choices. It use to be. Thanks to the fact that I am open to new ideas I considered the fact that faith is not based on evidence but only superstitious beliefs. If a God were to demonstrate his existence and required faith then I would change my mind. I am open for that. Although I doubt that God would do that because I know do not believe he exists. I realized that it was the product of imagination. However if someone produces evidence of the contrary I will study whatever holy book is needed.

PS: I think that is a difficult thing to do. To keep our minds open. SOmething I intent to continue doing. testing my opinions and my actions to protect them

But at least I know WHICH definition you are using. Saves a lot of time in discussions I find.

Doesn't matter to me who wrote it. We're not discussing Bible legitimacy.

If I try define your faith I will be accused of not being logical or open minded

Why not let me try to define my faith first and go from there.

Sad but true we are not all on the same page ever !!

We are all just a few degrees away from each other.

The enemies you make by taking a decided stand generally have more respect for you than the friends you make by being on the fence

One disadvantage of sitting on the fence

Have you ever had a young child take forever to decide which cookie to take as you are trying tp pass the plate to everyone ?

Not deciding is frustrating and annoying ( at least in this case.. life's choices do take some time however )

Also how many times do I hear people here say... I needed "closure "

Fences are made for those who cannot fly.

cyberjesus Can you expand on what sitting on the fence means? and its advantages?

Sitting on the fence is about taking the time I need to arrive at my destination. Not somewhere I need or desire to be but where my journey takes me. It's about being free of defending a particular belief that is likely will change in time anyway.

Its about not needing to be right or convince other that I all the answers. Birds sit on the fence watching for the right opportunity to take flight. I watch the robin in my garden and he has taught me a lot.

GLADIATOR: I think Caliber stabbed you in the stomach with is sword. Common man be a gladiator and not an expectator! AVE CESAR!

In another note. stating my lack of beliefs doesnt declare that I arrived at my destination, it says that I dont have the destination I had before. What are you afraid of? someone misquoting you?

It's about being free of defending a particular belief that is likely will change in time anyway.

so are you implying that poeple who are not sitting on the fence are dont have that freedom? Are you avoiding confrontation. is that it?

Its about not needing to be right or convince other that I all the answers

by implication you assert that everybody else needs to be right or convince others that they have all the answers.... mmm that is innacurate my friend. Common Gladiator get in the fight, dont be just watching the arena otherwise remove your armor and sit :-)

PSacramento. YOu my friend have my full attention :-)

Gladiator : you mean like the pic that PS posted ?
