This statement IMHO tells you and all of us (nearly all more likely ) that there are whisperings built into in our DNA code
that say ... "I am God your creator".. you can suppress these whisperings but never totally leave them behind !!

But considering the topic, open-mindedness, and the video.... I've noticed many people arrive at conclusions for which there is no evidence and, after having bought their view on faith, never give thought to researching other plausible explanations. Is that not by definition closed-mindedness?

Are there any other plasuible explanations for man's seemingly inherent need to worship? If a person hasn't investigated any of these explanations but instead just buys into the idea that god wrote that into our DNA, is he/she being open-minded?

Dawkins and others offer some very interesting discussion on that topic, BTW.

Do we really have a need of worship? Can this be proved? or could it be we think we have the need to worship?

I thought we had this need, I thought I had the need. I was out the borg for 14 years and thought I would come back later, however during those years most of them I didnt feel any need to worship even though I believed in a creator.

Then I decided to go back.. blah blah blah.. to worship my creator. Once I realized it was all an illusion I wanted to find the right religion so I could "worship" still. But that need was coming from 25 years of indoctrination that i needed to worship. Once I understood the bible was a hoax and religion a hoax, that need vanished almost instantly.

My first month of being an atheist I went to a Universalist Church cuz Ihad that "need" but it is gone completely. No need to worship on me nor need to serve my creator.... ha ha. That is gone! Thank God! So you want an explanation? study the real story behind the bible and the God we used to worhship and the Christ and then eventually you will find why you had the need in the first place.
