I remember Dippity Do. Dep, remember Dep? And the boys wore butch wax, Vitalis or Brylcream alittledab'lldoya.

Remember the Curl Free commercials? "Why be a curly mop top? Stop! Curl doop doo doop Free. Doop doo doo Free."

I have very fine hair and I always wanted curly hair and tried to have perms, but the perms just would not take and fell out. I was told this had something to do with the structure of my hair. I use hot curling tongs to curl it, I have even slept in painful curlers when I was younger and suffered for my vanity and woken up with headaches. Autumn time my hair falls out in bunches, do any of you have this problem, I hate it as my hair is thin enough already.

When I complain hubby says at least you've got hair. LOL

I got this book for my daughter when it came out:

When my daughter was younger I know it was hard for her to understand why her hair wasn't like her white girl friends. She cut a big wack out of her thinking that would make it grow straight. Her happiest day was when I finally relented and let her get a relaxer. I tell her all the time that she was beautiful hair (it grows fast and is thick and course like mine), I hope one she believes me.

I've never had that problem with my either of my daughters.

Maybe because the oldest has always had beautiful, easy-to-manage hair and the youngest is so danged nerdy that she neither notices nor cares.
