Thanks Tammy...you see my man was laid up with a torn achilles tendon and was bored so went online to browse and picked up on stuff I'd put on my profile about my interest in going back to Uni and he wanted to do the same so that started our conversations...he said afterwards that he learned more about me in a week of intense chatting online than he would have with months of normal dating....and I used things like multiple choice questions for a giggle to get to know him...eg
Your partner wants to watch a sloppy film on the tv but you want the football on would you:
a) Give in to your partner?
b) Tell her to record the film cos you rule the remote control?
c) Go to the pub and watch the footie with your mates and leave her with the tv?
Lol...some of his comebacks were so funny I used to be falling off my chair laughing...

Bingo. The trick is to skip the game the first time and watch the movie, thus dmonstrating your awesomeness as a boyfriend/husband/FWB, then say maybe a second TV for those rare events, like a golf major or football games, then go buy a bigger TV.

Turns out he's depressed and has crawled under a rock.
Doesn't join in anything but doesn't mind at all if people go to his house.
So...I have a movie date with him (friends for now, of course) on Saturday.
I asked him how big his TV is as I only watch movies on my computer.
It's biiiig. So, I said, "You are my new best friend." He got a chuckle out of that.
