I found your last topic started. I had read it, but it didn't really sound like it was anything other than an encouragement call to me that day you posted it. Now they will have something to talk about.
I support you and will worry about you, but I have no experience in this kind of thing. When it comes to this kind of matter, perhaps a current or former elder would have good advice.
I'd have a serious urge to beat the living fecal matter out of that so called friend you have that ratted you out.
Play dumb, act like you weren't aware that it is supposed to be top secret.
lol " I am sorry, Brother Buttrubber, I thought this was just another new release?? Praise Jehovah for the spiritual food at the proper time!
I doubt you have any worries about copyright/legal issues...
BUT apostacy, that's another story. If you don't want to get DF'd, or get more JC's investigating apostacy, in my opinion you have to play dumb. You were curious how the org ran. Since it's the truth, this is just info that helps us be better sheep. I don't know, but they will look for your reaction, and your intent, and if you appear innocent and sorry for distributing it, you will have a better chance of it dropping.
I like what stuckinamovement says... you got it, and thought it was just another distribution...
Grandma Jones ...you are turning out to be a little tinker on the quiet arent you? Lol....
Smoky...bluff it ..tell em you had no idea it what it was? thought it was to pass around the bros....
Loz x
stuckinamovement makes a good point!!!
The only way you would know that it was "top secret" is if you had read the BOE letter. Otherwise, why would you think it was secret? So you COULD just play dumb. You might have to fake "true repentance" for it though. If you act like you are SHOCKED that it was wrong, they might believe you. It would be interesting to hear their response to "I thought there were no secrets in Jehovah's organization."
Tell the Elders™ "the truth". You followed a link that claimed to be p0rn and came up with that filthy disgusting garbage.
Funny...you'd probably get in LESS trouble for looking at porn...
From an earlier thread I got the impression you've been inactive for awhile, a few years in fact.
If that's the case, then you don't really have the problem of trying to appear active or zealous while harboring apostate thoughts. What's happened is that your blip has now shown back up on their radar. But that doesn't necessarily mean that judicial action is brewing. They may just want to clarify and maybe scare you a little.
It's gonna be hard to deny if the elder has a chain of emails showing how you shared the file or shared a link to a download site. I'm not sure I'd even try to do that.
Depending on what you said in your emails - hopefully nothing like "Hey dudes! Wanna see the secret elder book?" - you could make a stand. Instead of denying, plead innocence on a different level. You didn't know the book was off limits. It's a WT publication. And you can put them on the defensive. Why shouldn't I send the book? Why is it so secret? I thought JWs didn't have a clergy class? I thought all JWs are ministrers...shouldn't all ministerial training be made to all? Let them twist in the wind as they try to defend the clergy class that they say doesn't exist.
Or - you can just plead ignorance. "I've been inactive awhile. I guess some things have changed some. I wouldn't have though it a big deal. There's nothing in the book that's not already in the other publications. I didn't see the harm. I guess I'll have to rethink my position." In other words - lie. Tell em what they want to hear...they go away and you go on about your business.
