You cannot possibly know what I believe until you either me what I believe or you ask someone else, who is one of Jehovah's Witnesses (maybe, your wife) to tell you what we believe, because in this very thread, I'm hearing nonsense from former Jehovah's Witnesses that make the false accusation that we were making predictions as to when the end of the world when we were touting "1914-the generation that will not pass away," which is not true, and is conjecture on their part since their knowledge of the Bible was incomplete and they evidently thought that they could scheme their way to salvation by pretending to love God.
You are a shameless liar.
There are countless more quotes and scans of WT literature that prove you are a liar. But there is no need to post them because you aleady KNOW you are lying.
Even active current JWs know that the JWs were predicting the end of the world before the generation of 1914 passed away.

I love how WT apologists are always reduced to comparing the actions of "God's spirit-directed Organization" with those of Satan-led earthly governments and saying "SEE THEY DO IT TOO!"
Not exactly helpin your case, heh.

"God's spirit-directed Organization"
When I asked my parents whether God was directing the Watchtower or not I got 2 different answers. How can 2 JWs living in the same house, married to each othe,r and going to the same Kingdumb Hell give 2 different answers to this question? So much for unity in the Borg.

I just gotta say this, it might be because I am high but DJEggnog effectively freaked my high ass out with his last post in reference to TD.
He ALWAYS quotes someone and then posts his response to the above quote. His tone is one of a man who knows the person he is quoting intimately. I get this feeling like he has done an inhuman amount of reading on this forum and has a mental (or possibly real) "file" on all regular posters here.
In his last post to TD he spoke as if he felt he could read TD's mind through his post. The man has a psychotic confidence about him, it's creepy feeling to me. He spoke of TD's wife in a weirdly intimate way, like they all knew eachother before. He talked about specific lies that TD was making in his post, almost like DJ is trying to freak TD out by acting like he can read his mind and extract anything he wants.
Something unholy about DJ.

I think djeggnog after many years in the WTS. has started to realise that this organization is just as false and pretentiously made up like
the rest of those other self-described channels of god. A organization constructed out of mens' desires of power and personal prestige.
Sure it was a deliberate attempt to bring attension to group of ignorant conniving men running a publishing house.
But hey it worked didn't ? The self-supporting theocratic bullshit continues on culling people into this man-made corruption,
new slaves for the master are gained. The men in power die only to be replaced by more disingenuous corrupt men.
This video explains why the new generation doctrine had to come about.

DJ,
To whom do you think you're speaking?
I think I'm speaking to either a Gentile or a Jew in ethnicity only --One who is very, very far removed from his cultural and religious roots.
If you do not wish to answer the question I have asked you here, just don't answer it. An significant portion of my question was whether or not a 360-day lunar year averages 30 days per month. You clear did not miss the thrust of the words "that each month averages 30 days," for you go on to say:
I'm sorry you don't feel that your question was answered directly. I'll try to fix that:
"...since the Jewish calendar is a lunar calendaring system based on the new moon, why would you say that "a lunar month is not 30 days" when a lunar month has always been reckoned as being 30 days in length?
Because it's very important in Judaism that the first of each month coincides as closely as possible to the astronomical new moon. You can't simply round the 29.530589 day new moon to new moon figure up to an even 30 days because a year's worth of 30 day months would wreck both the calendar and the holiday system entirely.
The notion that it is legitimate to round the lunar month up to an even 30 days is threaded throughout the balance of your reply. It doesn't matter how many times or ways you state the idea, it's still wrong.
RAMBAM stated that "..the method of the fixed calendar is one which an average school child can master in 3 or 4 days." "Mastering" it would include the knowledge that Rabbii Hillel codified the molad as a period of 29d-12h-793p; not 30 days even.

dj wrote: No, "1914-the generation that will not pass away" was the hope of Jehovah's Witnesses based on our wrong understanding of what Jesus said at Matthew 24:34, but Jehovah's Witnesses would never pretend that we could predict the date when Armageddon will arrive, for Jesus said at Matthew 24:36 that "nobody knows" [that day and hour] ... only the Father." Also, we have yet to hear anyone declare that "peace and security" has been achieved, which event was foretold to occur before "sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them." (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
Dj could you give me just a simple answer to this question.
In the bottom of the last page of chapter 18 You Can Live Forever In Paradise Earth book it says "Some in this generation that lived in 1914 will see the end of this system of things and will survive Armageddom" (book made in 1989)
Is this called old light or false prophecy?
