Has anyone who never had a pre-conceived notion of God, Jesus, Heaven and Hell every had a NDE and saw Jesus/God?
Do Muslims see Muhammad when they have a NDE?
    Do Buddhists see Buddha?

This site categorizes NDE accounts by religion (or lack thereof):

journey-on: What do you think of the stories people tell of having lived past lives?

I think that there are charlatans and "crazies" or people with extreme imaginations that will latch on to anything considered fringe, and taint the pool of credible accounts.

My wife has gave me accounts of past lives from when she was under hypnosis this past weekend. I am not sure what to make of it. I know she is not lying. She is the most honest person I have ever met, and I am not just saying this because she is my wife.

I have no idea, LT. I'm not a very gullible person, however, I don't just automatically discount everything that doesn't fit in the standard array of boxes.

I have read the research on the people in India that are known to be more attuned to the idea of reincarnation and can describe vividly events and places unknown to them in this lifetime. Some of these accounts are relayed by children to the surprise of their parents. Unfortunately, I can't recall right now the name of the book I read about this subject, nor can I remember the research group that did the studies that supposedly verified the claims. I'm sure, if you're interested, you could find it on the web.

But, without personal involvement and experiential validation, all you can go by is what the research found, and as I said before, there are charlatans everywhere that taint the pool of credible experiences.

You'd think god could at least wait for brain-death to occur before whisking people away to heaven.

I wonder, is hell real too? Are there accounts of people waking back up from a coma who spent their brief 'dead-time' in hell?

There are accounts of people seeing anything you could imagine, especially when it agrees with their religious background. Isn't the human brain a wonderful thing?

Is it possible that your consciousness creates your "heaven" or "hell". If you think it, imagine it, design and create it in your consciousness, perhaps that is the place your consciousness will dwell when it leaves this physical 3-dimensional world. If you are bad enough to believe you are worthy of some kind of hell, then perhaps that is where your consciousness will take you. I'm just throwing the possiblility out there.

For JWs and atheists, they choose to think there will be nothing after death...that when the physical body ceases to live, the consciousness also ceases to be. That may be exactly what their consciousness "experiences"......darkness and nothingness. So, for them, they may be right.

This is not how many of us would express it. For me, I simply have not seen any evidence that persuades me to believe in any consciousness after my body dies. However, my honest position must be that "I don't know" what happens when my body dies.
