Agreed. This is why, to me, the "personal revelation" carries much more weight than the Scriptures or the traditions. HOW can I possibly falsify one?

This doesn't, however, mean I believe the personal revelation of another, but I don't see any reason to criticize or condemn someone who has had one. I just ask that they try to realize that this very personal evidence is not sufficient for ME.

I get that. But, if it is someone you KNOW to be sober, honest, forthright, and credible, you give the experience more credence. Since we don't personally know most of these people, it's difficult to look at their experiences objectively.
Knowing my mother to be the person she was, gave her experience credibility for ME. If it had been Joe Schmo telling me, I may have considered him crazy or some kind of "religious nut" or attention hound.
