Also, educate yourself. It is rare that you can change your wife by presenting any of this information to her. This is apostate to a Witness, the word and thought brings out a fortress of defensive thinking. The best thing is to educate yourself with the facts. Learn about the history and you most likely need to use subtle ways to get your wife to think.
Read "Combatting Cult Mind Control" and "Releasing the Bonds" by Steve Hassan. This will help you learn how to deal with it.
The book "Crisis of Conscience" by Ray Franz, a former Governing Body member of Jehovah's WItnesses, will give you an inside look at the organization. Or, the book "Captives of a Concept" by Don Cameron.

To a Witness, the way of the religion is your life. It is "the truth". It is your identity. I woke up to the fact that it is not what I believed it was. It is a very rude awakening to experience.

... also, here are some very informative videos to give you an idea about some of the illogical things a Witness believes.

what is the deal with the watchtower?is that just a publication made by jw's?
The Watchtower is a magazine printed by The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Inc., the original foundation of the religion, now just one of many corporate entities used by Jehovah's Witnesses. Currently there is a public monthly edition offered in the ministry and a monthly "study" edition used by Witnesses to study at the meetings.
What is printed in the Watchtower magazine is approved by the Governing Body as the true understanding of what the Bible teaches. The publications are quoted as the final authority on scripture.

not a jw, please please take special note of the video on that site about child baptism. I was baptized at the age of 12 and was disfellowshipped.
But you have to be careful in how you deal with this. The books and websites wannabefree suggested are great resources to learn about this religion and how to go about protecting your son. You'll learn a lot on this forum and I also suggest Jehovah's Witness Recovery. And the biggest thing your son will learn from is your example and how you interact with him and others as compared to how your wife and the congregation does. He's lucky he gets to see both sides.

There is nothing in the book that a JW should be able to object to without looking like a right prat.

i have been trying to teach him to think for himself and to also stickup for himself to not let anyone bully him around, and just the latter would irritate my wife she would say it is not right to fight with others.my p.o.v is to not start fights but to finish them!!if someone bullies you defend yourself if need be!!so he gets both sides and i know it confuses him and makes it hard for him.
