Thank you TD and Bohm, for those explanations. I have a bare basic understanding of exactly how gene pools, etc, work. All I was trying to respond to was that all the kinds (beetles, birds, arachnids, canines, felines, etc.), could have fit onto an ark, and then evolved from there. I do not have a creationist model view of things - and there is no reason to think that evolution had not been happening before the flood, or that it changed from after the flood until today.
Most of the rest is over my head. But if we can misunderstand something (such as how much would have had to be on the ark) - then we can misunderstand other things as well. It is just a possibility, and that possibility leaves me open to the idea of an ark, flood, and repopulation - just not the literal version as we seem to have it, at this point in time.
Scientists don't know everything, therefore they don't know anything.
I would never and have never said this, nor do I believe it. In fact, I rely on science to explain scientific things. But science does not know how to explain everything, and is sometimes wrong in what it has previously stated, and then, when it is wrong, it reevaluates the evidence and searches to find the right answer - and then we have something new that sometimes explains previous 'impossible' things. Which as I said above, simply leaves me 'open' to other possibilities.
