Like all things, this is all about balance. Feminism is at one extreme while misogyny is at the other end of the spectrum. And like most things, the answer lies right in the middle.

Women and men are equal and should be treated as equal. Calling a woman a "weaker vessel" in the Bible is not directed at women. It is directed at men that feel like they are the greater ones and can trample all over the rights of women. We should view them as special people, that are in fact better than us men.

A mans stature is naturally built to be "stronger" physically. But women are greater than men in so many other ways that this is one of the only things that men have on women. There should never have been any distinction on what women can and cannot do compared to what men can and cannot do.

Personally I sort of feel like the feminist movement was extreme...yet necessary to force a change on society. Modern feminism...well I don't really see a need for such an extreme view anymore.

Let the flaming on me begin...

What I found very revealing... there is a reality show on TV where this lady provides dating services

for millionaires seeking mates. To a women millionaire she said .... "I know are successful and confident you are

as a self sufficient millionairee... but don't you call ... make the man call and be the pursuer ." So this women with over twenty years of

setting up couples still sees the man as chasing, always taking the lead .

It she seems recognizes a natural pattern in nature.. man as the leader.. the initiator !

Would any of you ladies dispute her conclusion ???

I think BOTH men and women like to be pursued.

But in general, I think womens' signs that they are interested in someone are more subtle.

I never really noticed it one way or another.

Growing up and dating there were always strong willed women and not-so-strong, there were always the easy lays and the not-so-easy lays, there were always the bitches and the really nice girls.

In short, there was always enough of different types that if you didn't like one type, you could try another.

I suspect it is the same with women in regards to mean also.

Feminism is at one extreme while misogyny is at the other end of the spectrum

I think part of the confusion arises from the pejoratative and incorrect use of the term "feminism." Feminism is a social and political movement that asserts that women are functionally equal to men.

Misogyny is the hatred of women. Therefore, feminism and misogyny are NOT opposite ends of a spectrum.

Misandry, the hatred of men, is the opposite end of the misogyny spectrum.

Any man here that wants his daughter to be able to work in professional fields, who wants to take time off when his children are born (parental leave), or wants generous rights regarding his children should there be a divorce, is a feminist.

On a side note and at least for me, there is nothing sexier and more fine than a strong willed and intelligent woman, regardless of her "feministic ideology".

But some women are just bitches.

The problem is that too many men are "easy". If all men adopted my attitude there would be no problems. If a woman is interested in me, here are the hoops she must jump through:

    1. She must inform me of her intentions in writing.
    2. I respond to let her know whether or not her intentions interest me. If interested I will provide her with my lawyer's contact info.
    3. Her lawyer must contact my lawyer to negotiate terms and conditions. As the initiator, she assumes all the expense for this.
    4. If the terms and conditions are acceptable, a contract will be signed in triplicate by the parties involved, lawyers, and witnesses.
    5. Repeat above steps for each progressive level of the relationship.

Yes, but there are extreme feminists that preach hatred against men. I concur that the majority in the feminist movement do not preach hate.

Feminism is at one extreme while misogyny is at the other end of the spectrum

Why be an extreme anything ???

Also I think the problem with any official" movement" is they focus so strong on one injustice they they can create another.

I had a friend who was discussing visitation rights etc with his kids... and ask " what about my rights" .. the lady answered

"we are only here to represent the children"........so I say if you only treat part of the problem .. what you can't expect to get ?
