wannabe: Make the teacher prove the date scripturally, don't accept that because WWI happened in 1914 it backs up JW teaching. JW publications will also quote non-JW sources about how the world changed in 1914.

The Federal Reserve System began it's operations in 1914 and we have been p*wned ever since. There was a lot of deceit and manipulation involved in getting that off the ground, so surely Satan was in charge and taking hold of everything. Not to mention the war begin a great distraction to get these things in place while people were looking in another direction.

After a few roundabout discussions, he proposed that we table the issue and work through the Bible Teach book & see if 1914 makes more sense after I am more familiar with JW doctrine.

Just a typical diversion tactic for a liar who wants time to dig themself out of a hole. If 1914 made so much sense to JWs, then why did they remove this 1914 proclamation from the inside cover of the Awake almost 20 years ago?

Then a few weeks later- 1914 is no longer a promise!

Thanks moshe. I forgot about that. I do wonder what JW's say when asked about the change in the masthead. Have you heard any of their rationalizations?

Have a JW explain 1914? I don't even think a President could make any sense of it-

Those were some interesting links. Although I disagree with JCanon's assertations of the Bible Chronology (not to mention his claim of being the messiah which is mentioned in his profile), he did have an interesting point about the Borg being God's organization because they are false prophets, a belief I've held for quite some time. Like Israel of old who fell into apostasy, I could see his points about the "wheat and weeds" parable and how much sense it made. Although I've often thought of the WTS as being the "False Prophet" mentioned in Revelation, I never thought to think they could also be the dragon with two horns like a lamb, which makes sense to me.

Don't think for a second I'm endorsing this guy in any way, shape or form, I just thought his ideas about the WTS were interesting and that they are indeed God's Organization,(which I've believed for some time), not because they preach truth, but because they teach false doctrine, just as the Bible said the "man of lawlessness" would.

    Quite interesting.

moshe - Yeah, the doctrine does make me scratch my head too. I was thinking about how my handler would react when confronted with the masthead change & I realized what his rationalization might be - this is based on how he reacts when I confront him with other WT re-wordings/euphemisms. He always gives me the same response which is "it could give the wrong impression." He would probably say the word "generation" in the masthead might confuse the average person who doesn't know how the WT defines it, so the FDS thought it best to re-word it. It's always about being careful not give the "wrong impression." He won't even let me say "your leaders." He insists I use the phrase "those taking the lead among you" because "your leaders" supposedly gives the wrong impression.
