It's a long weekend here in Ontario. If I were you, I'd call in sick, so to speak. Then have some fun. One day you will wake up and realize that you can't have fun anymore because you're too old. Don't let that happen to you.

Thanks for all the comments, I love reading about the freedom ex-JWs have. It gives me something to look forward to. I have another hour to go before clocking out, and I really want to cut loose. I want to have some fun this weekend. I don't mean bowling or a gathering either. I really want to cut loose. You know at times I feel for Tiger Woods, not that I agree with what he did, but I can relate. Living so conservatively is like pressing down upon a beast on a metal spring. If you loose control, the spring will bounce that beast upwards hard and fast. Tiger admitted before he got in trouble that his life was pretty boring. I guess the porn stars and strippers would have been the natural recourse to a boring traditional family life. I feel the same way at times. I've been taming my beast so long, but I feel it creeping out of me occasionally. Every now and then I try to drown that animal with alcohol, but all that does is waste time and its as if I'm running away from the problem by doing that. I don't want to go party with strippers or be like Charlie Sheen, but I do want some action right about now.
Its insulting how the WT implies that the solution for folks like me is to involve myself in more theocratic pursuits. I don't know where they're coming from, well I guess I do. They encourage that because they want to keep us busy, maybe a misguided approach to the idle hands/devil workshop theory. I don't know if you've heard of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All? If you haven't, you have to see their performance on Jimmy Fallon. I had never heard of these guys until reading about their performance in the news section of Google. I decided to check out their blog, and they've posted tons and tons of pictures of their everyday life. I envy the free spirit they have and I wish I could turn off my stiff suited demeanor for a significant portion of time. I've often joked that if I ran into a genie, I'd request for one of my three wishes to be no conscience, and another one of my wishes be no repurcussions for my actions. You know in the gospels, Jesus miracle with wine at a feast is one of the most popular stories. The thing that stands out to me is it mentions the host casually talking about getting drunk. The context of it led me to conclude that getting sauced occasionally isn't such a bad thing. Trouble with me is, I really don't want to get tanked, but there's a ton of other things I'd like to do. Ehh, so it goes.

It seems like such a small thing, but there is no feeling like sleeping in on the weekend after having worked hard all week. You don't have to worry about what you're going to say about the mags, trying to find something modest to wear , getting to the meeting for service on time, studing your lesson for Sunday. Pure bliss! Seriously, misery, you should try it sometime.

You're a good guy, misery. I've said it before...but I wish I had an elder like you in my hall when I was growing up. You're a pretty cool guy.
But don't wish for NO conscience. Just wish for a strong conscience. Paul said that those that were easily offended were the ones with a weak conscience.
Maybe someday we'll get to hang out. I'll show you a good time, and you won't even feel guilty in the morning!!!
