How can they claim that every prophecy in the bible has a greater fulfilment today???

I think pushing the "greater fulfillment" ideology could be detrimental to the WT as time goes on. After my initial doubts and disillusionment, I tried to go back in and I was completely wholehearted. I swept my doubts under a rug, chalked my issues up to materialism, and dove back in headfirst. Meetings, prayer, study, service, meditation.... everything that was prescribed and sincerely.

A few months into it, the WT study had yet another article glorifying the F&DS with a "secondary fulfillment" prophecy. It was full of speculation and studying that article with my wife proved to be the final straw for me. I remember specifically writing in my notes, "Why does every prophecy have to have a secondary fulfillment in our modern era??"

Hopefully, they'll continue pushing ridiculous ideas that help born-ins wake up.

Lot's of it comes from the book of Daniel. However, I would like to add that I totally 100% agree with you. I never got it, not one time, how everything was supposed to be repeated in the past and at the end times. It was just another example of the Witnesses willingness to accept anything their leadership says without question. Or, with fear of speaking out.

A good 'who's that man behind the curtain' question, indeed! One that in my experience would usually get softened and diffused in some variation of "because we're Jehovah's spirit-directed organization and that's what the GB know."

How can they claim anything is absolute truth, really?

I can rattle off quite a few "prophecies" that were never even fulfilled once let alone a second time.
