Congradulations. IMO, you've grasped intuitively what some of us have come to suspect vie deduction and reason.
There's a theory floating around here that GB2.0 is intentionally attempting to further winnow out any of the remaining fence-sitters, apostate-sympathizers, faders, and otherwise "lukewarm" JWs, i.e. "moderates" (they've pretty much purged the liberals, by now), leaving them with only hard-core True Believers(TM); authoritarian follower-types exclusively.
That way, if/when they become more and more extreme in their policies, they will (theoretically) experience less fallout.
